We are looking for an Engineer or Senior Engineer with a background in material technology to join our Renewables Engineering team in Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will work with a multidisciplinary team on material engineering for large-scale offshore wind projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of renewables through innovative solutions and collaboration.

About the position

As a material engineer, you will be involved in material selection, corrosion and erosion evaluations, and surface treatments. You will work closely with suppliers and other disciplines to ensure material quality through technical reviews and follow-ups. This role offers opportunities to influence large projects and collaborate across the supply chain.

Responsibilities and tasks include
  • Collaborate with teams on material selection, surface treatments, corrosion calculations, and insulation for large projects
  • Work with suppliers on materials, welding, and surface treatment, including occasional site visits
  • Participate in kick-off meetings and procurement package reviews
  • Support and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure smooth project execution
  • Interface with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
Qualifications
  • Master`s og bachelor`s degree in material technology
  • Experience in material engineering is an advantage, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with DNV and international standards is beneficial, with knowledge of Norwegian standards being a plus
Personal qualities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams
  • Positive attitude, cooperative mindset, and eagerness to learn and share knowledge
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and deliver high-quality work
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines and project requirements
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is an advantage
