About Svitzer

Svitzer Australia keeps port operations moving safely - day in, day out.

From harbour towage to terminal support, their crews manage the arrival and departure of vessels, support terminals, and work as part of tight-knit operational teams that are essential to Australia's maritime trade.

About You

Trade Qualified? Ready to take your skills into the marine industry?

If you hold an AMSA workshop-equivalent trade qualification or an AMSA Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC (MED 1) ticket (and have hands-on experience working onboard in an MED 1 capacity) this could be the perfect opportunity to advance your engineering career.

With a recognised shortage of qualified marine engineers across the industry, Svitzer and Programmed are serious about developing the next generation of talent.

That's why we're committed to supporting this training program and the right candidates through their Diploma of Marine Operations (Marine Engineering Class 3 Near Coastal) course at the Australian Maritime College (AMC) - including fully funded tuition, travel and accommodation. The program also provides practical sea time, mentorship from experienced engineers, and ongoing guidance throughout the certification process.
