The Facility includes tropical aquaculture systems, research facilities and ornamental marine and freshwater aquaria. - Our Salmonid Rearing and Trials Centre, which includes a salmonid hatchery and on-growing unit, lab and fish processing area, and a trials unit with 72 tanks. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, strong practical skills, and demonstrable experience in water quality, aquatic husbandry, record keeping and aquatic health monitoring. We also value excellent communication skills, a creative and flexible approach, and someone who can work well as part of a team of dedicated lecturers and technical staff. We would be particularly interested in candidates with an experience of salmonid nutrition research trials, or someone with the desire to develop their knowledge in this area to the level that they would be confident promoting research opportunities externally. In addition to overseeing the operation of the facilities, there may be opportunity for the postholder to contribute to the education of the next generation of aquarists by providing practical instruction and support to our students. This is a full-time role. The working pattern will involve some weekend work on a rota basis which can be discussed at interview. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy multi-disciplinary coastal management team managing coastal flood and erosion risk on the south coast. Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to five local authorities that reduces the risks to people, the developed and natural environment, from flooding and coastal erosion. With several exciting large-scale civil engineering projects in our portfolio, we are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Research team. Working within the Research team, you will be a coastal scientist/senior coastal scientist, helping to protect communities, the environment and shape our coastal landscape for future generations. By using your scientific knowledge, you will develop solutions by working across a variety of projects, with the opportunity to be involved in different aspects of coastal research, science and GIS analysis. The successful candidate will ideally have experience or interest in the following areas: Project Management Working across the wider Coastal Partners project portfolio, this role requires undertaking technical project management for coastal process studies to inform option appraisals and scheme design. This involves working with in-house Coastal Partners staff or external suppliers. The role also includes project management of Beach Management Plan production and external research projects, to better understand coastal processes through GIS analysis and modelling. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be good at report writing and presenting your results to a non-technical audience. Technical analysis and modelling skills Working in the research team, you will assist our tracer study service, undertake GIS analysis of data such as, aerial photography, lidar, topographic surveys, UAV data, bathymetry and habitat mapping. You will have a background in geomorphology and coastal processes and a hydro-dynamic understanding. Ideally you will have experience in sediment dynamics, overtopping of beaches and hard engineering structures; modelling; climate change, Beach Management Plan design and works; cliff erosion and landsliding. In terms of software, it will be advantageous if you have experience in ArcGIS, MIKE 21, Telemac, EUROTOP and Matlab. Your work will be diverse, working on the coastal process elements of our multi-million-pound projects that include an option appraisal for Selsey and beach management plan at Hayling Island and Southsea, along with smaller capital projects. You will work on and/or Project Manage tracer studies, baseline coastal process understanding reports, numerical modelling and beach management plan design and monitoring. You will require a degree or post-graduate degree in geography, oceanography, marine science, civil engineering or closely related discipline. Marine Project Manager

Position: Marine Technician - Boat Maintenance Technician Location: Benson, Oxfordshire Department: Operations Contract type: Permanent - full time Line Manager: Base Manager This is an excellent opportunity for a strong experienced mechanic/technician to join the Le Boat team where you will play a key role in preparing the boat yard for arriving customers for the season. You are proficient in all operations and maintenance of the boats including electrical and mechanical systems and performing boater training with customers prior to clients leaving on their charter. What you will be doing <ul> <li>In charge of technical interventions on pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane and hydraulic connections.</li> <li>Ability to perform installations of electrical, HVAC and mechanical equipment.</li> <li>Ability to perform cosmetic fiberglass repairs. We are home to one of the most successful groups of consultants in the fields of renewables, industry, offshore, coasts, rivers, ports and other inland developments. Our group within the wider company is around 200 people strong and growing and is based in 10 offices in the UK (Brighton, Leeds, Newcastle, Peterborough, London, Edinburgh, Exeter, Manchester, Birmingham &amp; Liverpool). We work closely with other groups in the UK, such as Maritime, Mobility &amp; Infrastructure and Industry &amp; Buildings, as well as our overseas teams, to deliver collaborative multi-disciplinary projects for our clients. The Role: We require a dedicated Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join our team, for the delivery of projects for various public and private clients such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs), Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs), infrastructure developers and renewable energy companies. As a key member of our Flood Risk and Hydraulic Modelling team you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects including both urban and rural flood risk, nature-based solutions, hydrology and hydro-geomorphology. Our team encompasses a range of different skill sets all designed to help clients understand, assess, mitigate, and manage flood risk and at strategic and specific levels. On a day-to-day basis our team are involved in writing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Warning and Emergency Planning, Surface Water Drainage Design and Strategies as well as many wider flood risk management projects. Current projects include preparing Flood Risk Assessments to support planning applications for residential, industrial, and commercial developers, developing surface water drainage design for Local Authority review. We specialise in providing flood risk support to the development of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) for Development Consent Order (DCO) applications including renewables, water infrastructure and flood modelling studies. Main Duties and Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assessment of Flood Risk to support the development of Flood Risk Assessments and Surface Water Drainage Strategies: <ul> <li>Assessing all sources of flood risk;</li> <li>Interpret flood data from the Environment Agency, SEPA and Natural Resources Wales and from hydraulic modelling studies;</li> <li>Develop Flood Risk Assessment reports for a range of sizes and complexities of developments independently, including larger NSIP developments which are undertaken within the DCO / EIA process</li> <li>Knowledge of relevant policy in England, Wales, and Scotland, including National Planning Policy Framework and supporting Planning Practice Guidance, TAN15 and Fourth National Planning Framework (NPF4).</li> <li>Communication and liaison with other disciplines across the business for example, civil engineers, geomorphologists, and ecologists.</li> <li>Communication and liaison with clients, external stakeholders including the Environment Agency, LLFAs and IDBs.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Hydrological Analysis:Supporting the Senior Hydrologist by utilising WINFAP and ReFH2 software to undertake catchment analysis and estimate hydrological inflows.</li> <li>Technical Reporting: Writing clearly and concisely, summarising technical concepts for a wide range of audiences such as the Planning Inspectorate, Environment Agency, LLFAs, Clients and the Public.</li> <li>Commercial/Project Management: Involved in winning work, preparing project proposals, managing resources, subcontractors, contracts and invoicing.
