Skills / Experience <ul> <li>Experience of Flood Risk Assessment preparation, and experience in one or more of the typical supporting skills including flood risk modelling, flood risk strategy development, drainage design or Water EIA, at least some of which should have been in consultancy. </li> <li>Demonstrable experience of leading or major contributor to technical inputs and teams for successful project delivery for planning and permitting for major infrastructure projects. Authoring and reviewing engineering documentation in accordance with company and project quality processes.</li><li>Generate, evaluate, select, and document the most appropriate design or solution for a wide range of problems encountered.</li><li>Controlling/managing interface definitions/information both internal to Rolls-Royce and externally with clients and suppliers.</li><li>Defining and monitoring design Substantiation/Verification activities.</li><li>Undertake basic design calculations and understand the results of those more complex.</li><li>Undertake design schemes of electrical and control architectures.</li><li>Produce and review design manuals (Operation and Maintenance Manuals), produce commissioning instructions and strategies and other design reports.</li><li>Assess supplier equipment proposals and review their deliverables.</li><li>Be technically responsible for defining the scope of packages of work and providing delivery against programme milestones, such as: requirements documents, system operation and maintenance manuals, data sheets, optioneering studies, equipment specifications.</li><li>Ensure appropriate quality, governance, verification, and validation efforts are applied to all design gate reviews. To be successful in this role you will need to: <ul><li>Be a general engineer with a recognised engineering degree (e.g. mechanical, chemical or physics). A background in Mechanical or Process Engineering. The ideal candidate shall have sufficient understanding in other discipline areas to undertake the responsibilities listed.</li><li>Understanding of systems engineering as a discipline, with experience of Stage Gate type processes in nuclear or similar highly regulated environments</li><li>An ability to clearly articulate both written and verbally an argument and rationale of design development.</li><li>A working knowledge of Mathcad Prime, using IBM Doors and knowledge of through-life design considerations is desirable.</li><li>Good communicator with a wide range of stakeholders that demonstrates a logical approach to problem solving and has experience of working with multiple engineering disciplines.</li></ul>We are an equal opportunities employer.
