Stantec is seeking a Senior or Principal Hydrologist - Flood Risk Consultant to join our growing Hydrology and Flood Risk discipline within the Water Environment team. You can be based in one of our Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Bristol, or Cardiff offices, joining a friendly team and a collaborative group of over 90 Hydrologists, Hydrogeologists, Water Resources Planners, and Water Quality Scientists. Our projects include enhancing the resilience of the public water supply, reducing the impact of wastewater treatment infrastructure on the water environment and working with Lead Local Flood Authorities. You will play a key role in delivering sustainable, climate-resilient flood risk and drainage solutions, with opportunities to work across hydraulic modelling, hydrology, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) design, flood risk appraisal, and development planning support. Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as an Associate Flood Risk Consultant in the Regulations and Development sector. As an Associate Consultant, you will technically lead and manage the production of flood risk consenting related documents for our major clients. You will join one of our rapidly growing UKoffices, whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. We are a close-knit team of consultants, engineers, technicians, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers and project managers. We work hard to give our team development opportunities, whether that is a secondment to see the client's perspective, an assignment to spend time on site to manage a construction contract, or arranging training to allow you to grow. Here's what you'll do: <ul><li>Deliver: Lead &amp; verify the production of documents such as flood risk assessments, strategic flood risk assessments, flood risk activity permits, Section 19 reports, and water resource chapters of EIAs.</li><li>Expertise: Lead input into tenders for complex and high-profile projects like nationally significant infrastructure projects.</li><li>Collaborate: Build strong relationships with clients and across technical discipline teams to ensure we successfully deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects.</li><li>Quality: Keep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our services; and use AECOM's project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budget.</li><li>Lead: Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development.</li></ul>Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 700 experts across the UK &amp; Ireland. Here's what we're looking for: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.</li><li>Professional chartered member of CIWEM or ICE.</li><li>Significant experience in technically leading teams in the production of flood risk assessments and/or flood risk activity permits.</li><li>Strong track record of project management, following the principles of the NEC suite of contracts.</li><li>Experience and understanding of hydraulic modelling as an evidence base to flood risk assessments / activity permits. </li><li>FCERM appraisal, water cycle study and water framework directive assessment experience would be beneficial, but not essential.</li></ul>Additional Information We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team.
