To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. <ul><li>Manages all aspects of the project, including construction, budget and cash management for a single assigned project to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.</li><li>Develops and manages the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project </li><li>Assesses initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness. Works with Area Manager to coordinate any change orders identified in production cost or schedule.</li><li>Creates and presents monthly cost and revenue forecast and reports to Flatiron leadership.</li><li>Develops internal and external working relationships with Flatiron supporting departments and project Owner to support the project work plan and payment schedule.</li><li>Reviews and approves all internal and external media news releases regarding the project.</li><li>Operates as main point of contact for all third-party stakeholders, including landowners, local business owners and government agencies that need to be engaged during the project.</li><li>Facilitates project safety reviews and procedures by conducting daily and weekly safety checks at the project site to ensure compliance with project and owner safety programs.</li><li>Coordinates with project superintendent to identify staffing and equipment needs for efficient and effective project production.</li><li>Collaborates with internal legal counsel to resolve any project disputes.</li><li>Leads project closeout procedures, finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages and working with management to resolve any project claims. Leads project debrief cycle to review all aspects of project work and completion.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of Company values and strategic plan.</li><li>Perform additional assignments per management's direction.</li></ul>Responsibilities: <ul><li>5+ years' experience in construction, engineering or scheduling required.</li><li>Experience in managing personnel required.</li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field a plus. Monitors work on deck on vessels ranging from 20' to 100' on trips roughly ranging from 1 to 14 days collecting data on fish catch and discard and incidental takes such as marine mammals, seabirds, and marine turtles. After attending a 3-week paid training in-person training in Falmouth, MA monitors are deployed from ports throughout New England and Mid-Atlantic states. Gear types assessed include, trawl, gillnet, longline and handline. Accommodations and meal reimbursement during in person session of training are provided. Training includes instructions on sampling protocols, gear, fisheries, fish identification, marine mammal/sea turtle identification, and safety. This is a challenging job and candidates must be mentally prepared to be away from home for multiple days, and must be physically able to handle heavy lifting, working odd hours, and long days in rough seas. Observing provides an excellent career in marine biology, as observers and monitors are widely recognized as being excellent field biologists. A broad range of advancement opportunities are available to those who demonstrate appropriate capabilities. Those opportunities include, but are not limited to, project management, field supervisors, and fieldwork in other programs. Compensation: Monitors' starting pay is $19.00/hour.
