In the role of Water Quality Modeler II, we'll count on you to: <ul><li>Lead the analysis and design of coastal engineering projects, including marsh restoration, shoreline protection, coastal-adjacent infrastructure projects, and more.</li><li>Develop construction plans and specifications to successfully implement projects on the Pacific Northwest coast.</li><li>Technical applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to our growing team of numerical modeling experts developing wave, tidal circulation, storm surge, passing vessel, and tsunami models.</li><li>Assist and lead development of proposals, cost estimates, and project management activities.</li><li>Interact with clients and foster HDR's reputation within the community and the industry.</li></ul>This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects that make a lasting impact on our coastlines, while collaborating with a team of talented professionals. Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>MS degree</li><li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in coastal engineering projects</li><li>Experience with numerical modeling of waves, tidal circulation, and storm surge. Alternatively, strong experience in development of construction plans, specifications, and project management. The candidate may focus on technical topics or engineering design and execution</li><li>Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems. </li><li>Ability to work independently in addition to planning, organizing, and assisting groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task</li></ul>#LI-JM8 Qualifications Required Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, oceanography or closely related field </li><li>A minimum of 3 years of experience in hydrodynamic or water quality modeling projects </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must </li></ul>What We Believe HDR is our company.
