THE OPPORTUNITY Cruise Whitsundays are seeking Marine Vessel Engineer's (MED 1) to join the team on a casual basis. Offering a unique lifestyle roster based out of Airlie Beach, The Whitsundays. Working 4 days one week and 3 the next where you never work a full weekend! This is a hands-on position which oversees, through relevant procedures, the safe mechanical operations of vessels ensuring all repairs are conducted safely and efficiently. What you will be doing? <ul> <li>Perform daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels</li> <li>Alongside the Master, management and safe operations of the vessel in accordance with policies and procedures</li> <li>Diagnose system problems as and when they occur</li> <li>Ensure all maintenance requirements and ramifications are recorded</li> <li>Coordinate and maintain effective vessel preventative maintenance programs</li> <li>Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off</li> <li>Assist with securing vessels at the various marinas and island jetties</li> <li>Be involved in safety drill practices as required by the Master</li> <li>Assist with guest experience duties including meeting and greeting of guests</li> </ul>ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will have demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures.
