Your Purpose: <ul><li>Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels. </li><li>Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals. </li><li>Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes. </li><li>Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions. </li><li>Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.</li></ul>What you can bring: <ul><li>Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer. </li><li>Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design within the port and maritime environment. </li><li>Sound knowledge in the civil and structural design of port and maritime infrastructure supporting port operations, the berthing and mooring of vessels and the transit of people and goods around the globe. </li><li>Working experience with current UK and European design standards including BS6349. </li><li>Proficiency in the use of and designing with appropriate FEA packages. </li></ul>What we offer? Principal Civil Maritime Engineer

You will work within a core of scientific and engineering experts, supporting a range of clients from the water sector, primarily, but also the energy and infrastructure sectors. Together, we will identify pollution sources, pathways, and impacts on sensitive receptors and develop both engineered and nature-based solutions. The role encompasses scoping, data collection, development, execution, and presentation of multi-dimensional environmental water quality models. These models simulate the behaviour of reservoirs, lakes (Loughs and Lochs), as well as transitional and coastal waters. About You You should possess a degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in consultancy and/or the water industry and either have attained or be working towards chartered membership in a relevant professional institution. As an experienced professional, you are expected to work independently and with minimal supervision, with extensive relevant experience that includes the following: <ul> <li>A good understanding of numerical modelling equations and discretisation, 2D mesh generation</li> <li>Experience using numerical modelling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, OpenFOAM, ADCIRC, and Telemac, with proven applications in relevant fields. This experience might include modelling hydrodynamics, multiphase flows, particle tracking, advection dispersion, water quality, and chemical processes. Ideally, you will also have a basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh and/or marine waters.</li> <li>Experience with Linux,scripting languages such as Python/R,MIKE ECO-lab would also be an advantage.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders where you will be working closely with clients, and other professional staff across multi-disciplinary business groups.</li> </ul>We are proud of our culture.
