You start with four weeks training: experts who came before you will teach you the job. Then, you will travel to the project where we need you most, with "Technical Superintendent Vessel Maintenance", as your job title. This could be anywhere in the world. Your tasks will be: <ul><li>Coordinate maintenance and repair activities.</li><li>Lead technical staff on and around the vessel.</li><li>Organise cooperation with shipyards and local contractors.</li><li>Take care of the logistic management of stocks of spares.</li><li>Check reports, repair lists and purchase orders.</li><li>Monitor safety, quality and minimal environmental impact.</li><li>Bridge communication between vessel and head office. </li></ul>Of course, you will not be doing this on your own. Engineer Vessel Maintenance within Belgium

On the other hand, it is responsible for the maintenance and equipment of existing ships. Every maritime project is different and each time the optimal configuration is put together. And if it doesn't exist, we make it ourselves! Your Role As Technical Superintendent Vessel Construction, you will collaborate on the preliminary design, design, specifications for and follow-up of construction or conversion of a vessel or other large offshore or dredging equipment. Your main duties and responsibilities: <ul><li>Studying and collaborating on the specifications, construction plans and all relevant documents regarding the construction;</li><li>Help follow up, adjust and approve the design work and technical purchases, both from the shipyard and internally;</li><li>Help support the design, construction and/or purchase of specific dredging and offshore equipment supplied to the shipyard, or manufactured by JDN;</li><li>Help follow up the construction and construction supervision and ensure coordination with the shipyard of work and deliveries by JDN;</li><li>Helping to monitor the testing programme and commissioning of the newly built ship;</li><li>Helping to equip a ship with the necessary tools and spare parts;</li><li>For some (sub)projects, these activities are carried out independently and under your own responsibility.</li></ul>You will work from the office in Aalst. Occasionally you will travel abroad to monitor and inspect the work on site. Engineer Shipbuilding

Our Dredging and Offshore vessels are highly technological equipment. As an Electrician/Electronic engineer you are responsible for the electrical and electronic equipment on board.
