Role Responsibilities <ul><li>Assisting the Fleet Groups and the Health, Safety Environmental and Quality Department in implementing and maintaining the accreditation of vessels in line with the requirements of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention.</li> <li>Perform shipboard audits to achieve and maintain accreditation in accordance with legislative requirements.</li> <li>Liaising with the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and other industry bodies on tanker related issues.</li> <li>Assisting the Fleet Groups in the preparation and submission of responses and reports to external inspections, e.g. Flag State, Port State, SIRE and CDI and the uploading and administering of the associated vessel information databases.</li> <li>Act as the principal point of contact with Chart Agents to ensure systems are effective and in compliance with statutory requirements.</li> <li>Responsible for maintaining Nautical Standards on all managed vessels.</li> <li>Administer the various vessel tracking systems in line with Company and Owners requirements.</li> <li>Advise Fleet Groups in all aspects of navigational practices, cargo issues, lifting equipment, general deck operations and associated operational safety.</li> <li>Assisting with accident and/or incident investigations and preparing any associated report(s).</li> <li>Within their area of expertise, identifying, preparing and reviewing documentation amendments/revisions, software programs and new equipment to meet identified needs in the development of the Company's Management System.</li> <li>Liaising with classification societies and flag state administrations on matters outwith the normal day-to-day operations conducted by superintendents including registration of new tonnage entering management, vessels leaving management, change of Flag and Class etc.</li> <li>Perform the functions required of the Company Security Officer.</li> <li>Interviewing sea staff recruits within their area(s) of expertise as requested by the Personnel Department.</li> <li>Emergency Role: Member of the Casualty Response Team.</li> <li>Occasional travel as required</li> </ul>You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered to be relevant to your position. Job Description <ul><li>Attend to vessels to verify health, safety standards and execution of environmental protection policy onboard.</li><li>Guide vessel in compliance to Company's policies, international rules &amp; regulations and oil major's requirement. </li><li>Advise on changes in legislation and/or industry best practices and submit recommendations for approval.</li><li>Proposal amendments of company's SMS manuals for approval.</li><li>Conduct annual internal Safety Inspection (Marine) and Navigational Audit on board vessels.</li><li>Conduct Internal ISM audit and co-ordinate external ISM/ISPS/MLC audit on board vessels.</li><li>Guide vessel in preparation of SIRE Inspection and carry out pre-vetting on board prior to the inspection.</li><li>Arrange and attend to vessel SIRE inspection and follow up with rectification report within due dates for approval.</li><li>Follow up vessel's PSC/FSC inspection and any other external inspection/surveys (Terminal Inspection, P&amp;I survey, Banker Inspection etc.).</li><li>Conduct investigate and report for marine incident, accident, casualty and customers complaints, as required.</li><li>Implement and monitor corrective actions for any Non-Conformance relating to health, safety and environment protection.</li><li>Evaluate Master and sea staff's performance via internal inspection onboard and proposal actions to be taken.</li><li>Conduct crew interview as crewing department requested.</li><li>Prepare relevant TMSA element upload as assigned.</li><li>Monitor and process vessels routine reports. </li><li>Monitor vessels deficiency report, especially for critical equipment to ensure deficiencies are timely close-out.</li><li>Carry out sales &amp; purchase inspections and tasks related to taking over vessels and newbuilding, as assigned.</li><li>Arrange for vessel safety equipment service (life rafts, fire-fighting appliances etc.) within due dates.</li><li>Monitor and supply vessel operations related equipment service (cargo hoses, fenders, mooring ropes, UTI etc.).</li><li>Verify all deck repairs, stores, maintenance and servicing quotation/invoices for approval.</li><li>Controlling of budget of deck store, spares and repair.</li><li>Any other duties as assigned by the Marine Manager.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>COC Class 1 or 2 holders with sailing experience on oil tankers.</li><li>At least 1 years' experience as a Marine Superintendent in ship management operations.</li><li>Foreign going chief officer with sea experience preferred. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to handle multiple projects and good organization skills</li><li>Analytical, able to work independently, results-oriented, resourceful, and pro-active.</li></ul>Additional Information Only successful candidates will be notified.
