Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li>Plan and supervise surveying operations;</li><li>Select, utilize, and calibrate appropriate surveying equipment for marine construction, hydrographic surveys, nautical charts, and maps;</li><li>Select and manage survey boat, software and hardware for the project site;</li><li>Provide accurate reports, manage data and answer technical queries for marine construction activities such as dredging, coastal work, pipelines and environmental monitoring, and other structural construction activities;</li><li>Collect information about the type of seabed along with the movement of water and waves and the delineation of high water and low water line;</li><li>Generate contour maps and other graphical models;</li><li>Validate data, convert data into charts, profiles, and other graphical methods using AutoCAD and other modeling software.</li><li>Assure the project documentation is correct, complete, neat, and consistent with the company's policies and procedures;</li><li>Interact with project personnel, including contractors, project managers, engineers and clients and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings;</li><li>Prepare and oversee subordinates' final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices;</li><li>Interpret and apply technical specifications, construction drawings, and work plans and determine appropriate action to implement plan requirements;</li><li>Identify, prepare, and distribute field change requests and request change orders for review and approval by Project Manager or Engineer;</li><li>Identify project staffing requirements and prepare and maintain on-site personnel schedules to meet project deadlines;</li><li>Address and resolve on-site work problems, as well as client, contractor/subcontractor and employee problems quickly and effectively;</li><li>Ensure compliance with project specifications and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific health and safety plans (HASP) and the company's Environmental Health &amp; Safety Management policies and procedures;</li><li>Oversee the site-specific health and safety plan activities of the subcontractors or other surveyors; Direct tailgate health and safety meetings in accordance with established policies and procedures;</li><li>Manage and abide by the project budget and provide notification of anticipated costs and potential overruns to Project Managers and/or Engineers; and</li><li>Perform related work as required.</li></ul>Education and Licensure <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in surveying, construction management,civil engineering, geology, marine sciences, or related subjects (required)</li><li>Advanced degree in surveying, construction management,civil engineering, geology, marine sciences, or related subjects (preferred)</li></ul>Skills, Experience and Qualifications <ul><li>At least 5 years of applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.
