Job Description <ul><li>Assist the team in planning &amp; design works for civil engineering Projects (e.g. land reclamation, port construction and other coastal structures) for local and/or overseas</li><li>Assist the Executive Engineer / Design Manager to carry out: plan for Site investigation and result interpretation,</li><li>Civil and Structural (C&amp;S), Environmental, and Geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e: deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc.)</li><li>Managing subcontracts (i.e: soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract etc.)</li><li>Managing main contracts</li><li>Supervise both design and/or site work</li><li>Ensure all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice</li><li>Engage and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties</li><li>Support on pursue project: assist in Tender submissions</li><li>Assist in other Coastal department activities, i.e. design guidelines, SOP, etc.</li></ul>Job Specification <ul><li>Bachelor Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering recognised by BCA/IES/ACES and from reputable university</li><li>Fresh graduates are welcome</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English</li><li>Team player and able to multi-task</li><li>Discipline, self-motivated and resourceful</li><li>Have relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure and/or reclamation projects are advantageous (up to 5 years)</li><li>Experience in contract administration will be advantageous</li><li>Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)</li><li>Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc will be advantageous</li></ul>At Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively. Coastal Engineer

1. Carry out design review of C&amp;S and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation etc. for local and/or oversea projects 2.Assist the Design Manager to coordinate, manage, and oversee all design related matters including: <ul><li>Ensure design coordination, document submission from Contractor is in accordance with the time schedule</li><li>Ensure Instructions issued by Employers are coordinated with the Contractors</li><li>Study and review of submissions from the Contractors</li><li>Resolve design discrepancies or technical conflicts which may arise from the Contractor while carrying out the construction works</li><li>Co-ordinate with Contract and Construction team and provide necessary information or correspondences on changes which deviate from the contract and may lead to time and cost implications.</li><li>Chair all design coordination meetings.</li></ul>3. Assist the Project Lead / Project Manager to carry out: <ul><li>review on plan for Site investigation and result interpretation,</li><li>review on C&amp;S, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e.: deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc.)</li><li>managing subcontracts (i.e.: soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract etc.)</li><li>managing main contracts</li><li>Supervise both design and/or site work</li></ul>4. Prepare technical reports and submission to Clients and Authorities (i.e: GIR, concept design, detailed design, risk assessment, ground improvement, etc.) 5. Ensure all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice 6. Engage and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties 7. Support on pursue project: assist in tender submission 8.
