Through integration with other expertise in urban and natural catchments, we work with a range of stakeholders to help clients and communities to develop solutions that deliver environmental performance sustainably and efficiently.This is a great opportunity for an experienced and imaginative water quality modeller to join an ambitious expert team in a role that will provide plenty of scope for technical development and career progression in the coming years through existing contracts and client relationships both in the UK and overseas. You will work within a core of scientific and engineering experts, supporting a range of clients from the water sector, primarily, but also the energy and infrastructure sectors. Together, we will identify pollution sources, pathways, and impacts on sensitive receptors and develop both engineered and nature-based solutions. The role encompasses scoping, data collection, development, execution, and presentation of multi-dimensional environmental water quality models. These models simulate the behaviour of reservoirs, lakes (Loughs and Lochs), as well as transitional and coastal waters. About You You should possess a degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in consultancy and/or the water industry and either have attained or be working towards chartered membership in a relevant professional institution. As an experienced professional, you are expected to work independently and with minimal supervision, with extensive relevant experience that includes the following: <ul> <li>A good understanding of numerical modelling equations and discretisation, 2D mesh generation</li> <li>Experience using numerical modelling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, OpenFOAM, ADCIRC, and Telemac, with proven applications in relevant fields. This experience might include modelling hydrodynamics, multiphase flows, particle tracking, advection dispersion, water quality, and chemical processes. Ideally, you will also have a basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh and/or marine waters.</li> <li>Experience with Linux,scripting languages such as Python/R,MIKE ECO-lab would also be an advantage.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders where you will be working closely with clients, and other professional staff across multi-disciplinary business groups.</li> </ul>We are proud of our culture. Senior / Principal Marine Water Quality Modeller

Principal Marine Environmental Consultant - offshore wind The Opportunity: TetraTech RPS Energy is adding a Principal Environmental Consultant - EIA - Offshore Wind to our Marine Consenting team. This role will deliver client projects in the UK and internationally, predominantly for Offshore Wind but also in other offshore/coastal sectors we are involved in. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based in Edinburgh, Woking, Chepstow, Aberdeen or London (home working can be considered). We have flexible working opportunities, including part time roles, to ensure a balance of family and working life. We are at the forefront of the industry - delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments including offshore wind farm developments. You'll become a member of a deeply experienced marine consenting and environment team who have been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) consultant for some of the industry's major "firsts".
