<h3>Second Engineer/IFCO</h3><ul><li>Salary: &nbsp;&nbsp; NIFCA Grade D, £28,151 – £37,850 (dependent on experience)</li><li>Hours:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 37 hours (5 days) per week</li><li>Base:&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Blyth &amp; the NIFCA district</li></ul>The Northumberland Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NIFCA) is looking for an experienced individual to act as its Second Engineer/Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Officer (IFCO). This is a dual role, with the main emphasis upon marine engineering and maintenance work required by NIFCA with the successful applicant being responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the NIFCA’s vessels and equipment.The position ideally requires somebody with experience in maintaining work boats of up to 24 metres in length. Diagnostic and maintenance knowledge of 4 stroke outboard engines, vessel hydraulic and electrical systems would be an advantage.Sea going experience is essential, with any RYA qualifications advantageous as the successful applicant will also be required to act as a member of crew NIFCA’s patrol vessel and Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs).
