RINA is currently recruiting for a Germany Marine Surveyor to join its office in Hamburg within the North Europe Marine Division. Mission A Surveyor in a classification society plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of ships and marine assets. The main responsibilities are aimed at verifying that vessels meet international and classification society standards. #LI-DP1 Key Accountabilities <ul> <li>Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related Rules, Regulations, requirements, concepts, principles, and processes.</li> <li>Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed.</li> <li>Maintains survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.</li> <li>Maintains active awareness of new working methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities.</li> <li>Recommends new approaches to problems encountered.</li> <li>Performs routine surveys on classed ships, platforms or other marine structures and at manufacturers sites for compliance with classification and statutory requirements.</li> <li>Engages in contact with clients to solve problems within area of expertise.</li> <li>Ensure vessels comply with international regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL) and classification society rules.</li> <li>Liaise with shipowners, charterers, insurance companies, and port authorities</li> <li>Support audits for ISM/ISPS/MLC compliance where required</li> <li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in regulations and industry best practices.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul> <li>Master's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent seagoing experience).</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Marine Surveyor or in a relevant marine engineering/officer role.</li> <li>Solid understanding of vessel engineering systems, marine machinery, and international maritime regulations.</li> <li>Good proficiency of German and English, both spoken and written.</li> <li>Proficiency in survey-related software and general technical tools.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and a collaborative, client-focused attitude.</li> <li>High standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.</li> <li>Well-organized, proactive, and able to manage time and documentation effectively.</li> <li>Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.</li> <li>Valid driver's license and passport.</li></ul>With over 5,800 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries worldwide, RINA is a multinational player which provides certification, marine classification, product testing, site supervision and vendor inspection, training and engineering consultancy services across a wide range of sectors.
