As the Vessel Engineer, you will have the overall responsibility for the operational state and maintenance of all machinery and electrical equipment on board the vessel. Main accountabilities: <ul><li>Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all propulsion, auxiliary and deck machinery, electrical appliances, domestic installations, fittings and structures within and out with the machinery spaces and such items as may be detailed by the Company from time to time.</li><li>Consult at least daily with the Master in order to achieve the maximum economy consistent with the minimum efficiency required of the machinery under their charge. They must keep the Master promptly and fully informed of any occurrences in the engine room which might affect navigation or the essential services under his control.</li><li>Assist the Master to ensure compliance with all relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation and to ensure that all responsible Officers are familiar with Emergency Procedures, Contingency Plans and capable of operating all Safety and Pollution Prevention equipment and appliance.</li><li>Become familiar with details of vessel's construction, machinery and operating characteristics.</li><li>Be responsible for the overall control configuration of the vessel and all systems / equipment.</li><li>Keep a careful account of all labour coming under their jurisdiction so that contractors' bills can be checked and to ensure suitable quality of workmanship.</li><li>Submit accurate figures to the Master each day, showing the quantities of bunkers, lubricating oils and water consumed and remaining onboard.</li><li>Ensure that all Planned Maintenance and both normal and emergency repair work is carried out. Job Overview The Pressure Vessel Engineer II designs pressure vessel equipment for the required codes set by the customer, they work directly with the General Manager &amp; Chief Engineer to verify that the designs meet the requested code and may review them with an third-party inspector, they also work on customer orders, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties. Creating the following types of details: <ul><li>Pressure Vessel designs complying with ASME Section VIII. Div.1 and PED standards, as well as other governing pressure equipment codes including but not limited to: PD 5500, EN 13445, GB-150, AS1210, TEMA</li><li>Calculation reports for customers and inspectors related to: Vessel design, lifting analysis, wind/seismic/snow/ice loads, nozzle loads, other applicable equipment loads. </li><li>Work with local and international Notified Bodies</li><li>Completes any required forms and or submissions to Governing Bodies including but not limited to: ABS, CRN, DNV, Lloyd's, KGS, KR, NK.</li><li>Piping and tubing assemblies complying with ASME B31.3.</li><li>Steel frame weldments for equipment </li><li>Details for machined parts.</li><li>Selection of component parts and materials to be used in the above drawing types and creating parts lists for procurement.</li><li>Design Review with reference to PED standards</li></ul>- Interaction with sales engineers on quoted and sold vaporizer systems. - Interaction with procurement and manufacturing of the vaporizer systems. - Work within the required codes on projects and provide the information to the mechanical designers working on the orders, or complete the designs by themselves. - Work on design concepts for products or improvements for existing ones using information provided by sales engineers. - Work with the quality department on customer specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, standards/requirements. - Work with the manufacturing and quality departments to monitor issues that come up during the manufacturing of equipment. - Assembles and writes operations manuals for equipment. - Answers customer field questions on existing equipment or new installations. - Adheres to project schedules for jobs. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Employees are required to wear company-provided PPE as/when needed. PPE's may include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut-resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats &amp; dust masks. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
