POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Marine Service Technician performs all service and warranty repairs on boats, motors, trailers or ATVs in a timely and efficient manner according to manufacturer specifications. JOB TITLE: MARINE TECHNICIAN Role on ALBA FSU on a 2/3 rota on a fixed term contract for 12 months KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operations and first line maintenance on marine equipment on the FSU and main deck areas, including all equipment associated with the turret, inert gas systems, crude oil storage and offloading systems, ballast/bilge systems and crude oil/water washing equipment. • Operation and first line maintenance on all FSU power generation and utility systems including air, diesel, sea/fire water and accommodation facilities systems. • Support vendor repair scopes. • Deck operations e.g., mooring operations with shuttle tanker, crude oil / water washing and cargo offloading operations. • Preparation of crude oil storage and ballast tanks for confined space entry and inspections. • Required to fulfil an emergency role within one of the installation emergency response teams (Fire Team, Helideck Crew, Coxswain). • Required to become competent in control room operations and cover role of CRO when necessary. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • Merchant Navy Third/Second engineer with crude oil tanker experience (or similar from Royal Navy). • Prior experience of working offshore in a mechanic role on FPSO/FSU's is desirable but not essential. • A good understanding of and proven experience in the operation and maintenance of marine hydraulic control systems. • Good communication skills. • IT Literate #LI-SG1

Position: Marine Technician - Boat Maintenance Technician Location: Benson, Oxfordshire Department: Operations Contract type: Permanent - full time Line Manager: Base Manager This is an excellent opportunity for a strong experienced mechanic/technician to join the Le Boat team where you will play a key role in preparing the boat yard for arriving customers for the season. You are proficient in all operations and maintenance of the boats including electrical and mechanical systems and performing boater training with customers prior to clients leaving on their charter. What you will be doing <ul> <li>In charge of technical interventions on pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane and hydraulic connections.</li> <li>Ability to perform installations of electrical, HVAC and mechanical equipment.</li> <li>Ability to perform cosmetic fiberglass repairs. (Training will provided)</li> <li>Maintain the fleet to the highest of standards in terms of presentation to the customer and reliability.</li> <li>Maintain maintenance schedule as per manufactures warranty.</li> <li>Control of inventory for adequate supply of parts.</li> <li>Instruct and educate clients during boat orientation and trail runs through locks if needed.</li> <li>Ensure boat briefings and training leave customer feeling confident with their boat.</li> <li>Ability to travel with company vehicles to off-site locations to do emergency repairs and attend customer needs (a call out schedule will be put in place for out of hours support in season).</li> <li>Hauling/launching, commissioning and de-commissioning of fleet.</li> <li>Gas dock operations as needed, watering, fuelling, and pumping out holding tanks.</li> <li>Ensure boats are in good shape to be turned around and presented in pristine condition.</li> <li>Support customers throughout their cruise in terms of technical assistance, breakdown call outs and general tourist/boater information and advice.</li></ul>What we are looking for: Skills, experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training <ul> <li>Must have proven years of experience as a Maintenance Tech ideally in marine, boating or car industry or at least</li> <li>Experience in General Maintenance (Tourism or Hospitality) or Mechanical /Electrical/Plumbin/HVAC/Handyman repair background</li> <li>Ability to read specifications and installation instructions.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build internal relationships and deliver exceptional service to customers.</li> <li>Excellent organization prioritizing skills.</li> <li>Fluency in English.</li> <li>Driving license required</li> <li>Eligibility to work in the UK</li> <li>Available for working at weekends during the season (April - October)</li> <li>All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory references</li></ul>Highly desirable and advantegous: <ul> <li>Knowledge of marine diesels vessels (knowledges of Nanni motors as an advantage).</li> <li>Certificate from a marine college or equivalent (an advantage).</li> <li>Other language skills as Dutch, German, French would be a bonus.</li> <li>A passion for boating and relevant experience on boats would be ideal.</li></ul>Why Choose Le Boat?
