Are you a senior structural/civil marine engineer looking for the next step in your career? You provide guidance to more junior staff, including project managers, engineers, graduates, technicians and admin staff working on your projects. Furthermore, you will: <ul> <li>Prepare designs and analysis for maritime and associated structures for ports and shipyards.</li> <li>Carry out inspections and surveys.</li> <li>Produce design calculations and check and review calculations produced by others.</li> <li>Check and review models and drawings before issuing them.</li> <li>Prepare Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents, and Specifications.</li> <li>Undertake structural analyses and reporting.</li> </ul>Your role will involve giving presentations to client organisations and internal audiences, providing engineering judgment and advice, and reviewing (or preparing) study reports to a high standard of written English. You will provide commercial awareness of projects to deliver profitable results within the programme by setting and agreeing expectations and achieving on-time delivery. The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Maritime Civil Engineer to join the Energy, Water and Resources team in the North. This is an opportunity to join our team and deliver technical solutions across a wide range of projects. You will work alongside colleagues with a particular focus on maritime and ports projects as part of the energy transition. This is an exciting time of change and via your work you will be able to positively influence the mass deployment of technologies such as offshore wind and hydrogen, for which ports and coastal sites play a central role. You will have the opportunity to work across all stages of the project lifecycle, from advisory services and masterplanning for clients at the early stages of project inception, through to detailed design and construction phase. In the role you will have the opportunity to directly work with a wide range of internal and external collaborators and stakeholders. Your role will see you involved in a range of design activities to project management tasks including:- Delivery of project work from early masterplanning and concept stages through to detailed design and construction support activities; Technical delivery of civil / maritime engineering designs, calculations, models, reports and drawings; Project design management and delivery, including ensuring high quality technical design and reporting; Project commercial management including monitoring progress and costs against programme and budget; Team planning and resourcing needs and management of deliverables through active collaboration with supporting disciplines. As a Senior engineer you will hold a BEng, MEng or MSc level qualification in Civil Engineering or related subject. Ideally you will be a Chartered Civil Engineer, Chartered Structural Engineer, or equivalent. We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes, and skills: <ul><li>Skills in delivery of civil engineering projects including a significant period of relevant experience in the design and construction of port, harbour, coastal, and/or offshore engineering projects or related fields. </li><li>Knowledge of the application of Eurocodes and BS6349.</li><li>Ability in supervising and mentoring more junior staff on a day-to-day basis. </li><li>Project management experience of small projects or work packages on larger projects.</li><li>Confidence engaging with a range of external stakeholders such as clients, consenting authorities, contractors and/or end-users.</li><li>Proficient in review of drawings and interrogation of 3D Modelling of civil engineering projects, using industry-recognized software system e.g. Civil 3D, Revit or equivalent.</li></ul>The successful candidate will have a desire to work on the design and construction of civil engineering infrastructure across maritime, port and harbour projects.
