About the Role We are seeking a motivated and experienced Cruise Director to join our team at Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney. This is a full-time position with an immediate start. The Cruise Director is a hands-on role that would be perfect for hospitality professionals looking to lead a team in a premium dining space on a luxury vessel in Sydney Harbour. Working to support the Vessel Master and Operations Manager, the Cruise Director plays a key role in achieving the company mission of providing our guests with outstanding customer service, quality products and an unparalleled experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate and proud of the food and service they deliver and be willing to go above and beyond for our guests. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude and have the flexibility to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays. As a Cruise Director, your duties will involve the supervision and overseeing of the Food &amp; Beverage and Customer Service, whilst adhering to Operational Procedures and WHS Requirements A standard working day shall consist of up to 12 working hours, within the hours of 07:00hrs and 00:00hrs. Shifts commence and finish at Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont. Requirements The ideal candidate will have confident leadership skills, can think on their feet in a dynamic workplace and build a respectful rapport with work colleagues and guests. They will have a positive, happy attitude, be comfortable working on the water, have a background in preparing and serving food and be able to deliver exceptional customer service. Staff and Hospitality Management experience will also be highly favoured. The main tasks of our Cruise Director are to communicate and delegate functions to ensure a luxury service on board. This role demands coordination between the Iquitos office, the Lima office and the vessel. Leadership is essential to exert a healthy influence on the team in charge. This position is based in Iquitos, Peru; however, during time off, individuals can live in Lima, Perú. The Day to Day: -Exercise leadership in handling crew members' responsibilities. -Coordinate with the captain about the voyage to be made. -Carry out the briefings to passengers. -Prepare the operational report on incidents. -Be in charge of closing consumptions of POS. -Based on ISM certification: Be responsible for the evacuation of all passengers on the ship in case of emergency. Supervise compliance with the stipulated system standards. What are we looking for? - English speaker or native level proficiency. - Technical or Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Hospitality or Tourism Management. - 3 years of work experience in luxury hospitality or cruise industry. - Proven track record of leadership with a minimum of 2 years of experience. - Proficient in computer skills and numeracy. - You enjoy speaking and sharing your knowledge with customers. - Customer Service capabilities, able to deal with a variety of clients and strong multi-tasking skills. - Attention to detail and ability to plan ahead.
