The Marine Accident Investigation Unit (MAIU), an independent investigation unit to be established within the Department of Transport will be responsible for the investigation of all types of marine accidents to, or on board, Irish vessels worldwide and other vessels in Irish territorial waters and inland waterways. Job Description: The Supervisor position requires 5 years of experience as a supervisor in repair and maintenance efforts onboard U.S. Navy ships in the Trade Skill they are supervising and On-Site Supervisors must reflect the same (3 years) experience, training, and qualifications, as the Tradesperson they are supervising. These periods of experience cannot overlap. Required Skills and Experiences: Supervisors shall possess 5 years' experience supervising the following requirements: Marine Electrician Typical Trade Tasks a. Install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of electrical temporary support systems, such as temporary alarm, lighting, and power distribution systems containing components such as transformers, distribution panels, control panels, safety switches and service trees using a variety of manual and power operated machinery. f. The Marine Electrician shall have at least three (3) year's experience within the electrical trade, a minimum two (2) years of which includes work in industrial environments such as shipbuilding, ship-repair, or nuclear power plants. b. The Marine Electrician must be trained in typical trade related precision measurement instruments, such as electrical meters; trained in electrical safety in the workplace standards per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E; and trained and experienced in working with schematics and technical drawings. c. The Marine Electrician shall be capable and knowledgeable of troubleshooting/testing various ship and ship temporary support electrical, systems, circuits, controls, instruments and equipment, onboard Navy ships/vessels to include submarines and/or ship's components and able to document test requirements. d. The Marine Electrician shall have knowledge and ability to proficiently use various types of electrical and electronic measuring devices that include voltmeters, amp meters, ohmmeters, power analyzers, as well as possess the ability and knowledge to disconnect /reconnect and perform Initial Voltage Verification of electrical equipment. e. The Marine Electrician shall have a working knowledge of electrical trade mathematics and formulas in order to calculate voltage, amperes and resistance requirements and to determine size and types of material, including controls, switches, distribution panels, fuses, cable and conduit size when determining appropriate power source. f. The Marine Electrician shall have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals, make working diagrams, circuits, electrical systems, circuits, controls, instruments and equipment. g. Organizational Setting The Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC) and FAO are implementing the project Mainstreaming Sustainable Land Development and Management in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana (SLDM). The project aims at establishing an enabling environment for promoting sustainable and climate-resilient land development, management, and reclamation in support of Guyana's Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) through activities working at (i) streamlining policy, regulation, and governance; (ii) developing institutional and human capacities; and (iii) strengthening local governance in three regions where the project is being implemented. The project is implemented at three levels - national, regional, and local - the SLDM project is designed to create an enabling legal and policy framework informed by policy feedback loops nurtured with ground reality and inclusive participation. Reporting Lines The Geodesy Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the FAO Representative in Guyana and the SLDM Project's Chief Technical Advisor /Project Manager. He / She will work in collaboration with the Commissioner of the GLSC and other FAOGY and SLDM team members, and under the overall technical guidance of the Lead Technical Officer (LTO) and the concerned task force members. Technical Focus The incumbent will be responsible for the theoretical aspects of the work and will provide guidance and oversight for GLSC and will coordinate activities with the local Survey Specialist(s) to establish and build the capacity of GLSC to deal with the Geodetic Reference Framework computations and Gravity surveys and Geoid model computations. They will also provide guidance on the development of capacity for hydrographic surveying in alignment with international standards. He or she will consider integration for a field-to-office workflow / survey data to ensure that high-quality data are captured, catalogued, stored, maintained, disseminated, and analysed in the most efficient way, utilizing the geodetic reference framework as required. He / She will be home based but will also one/two mission(s) to Guyana, and work with survey staff of the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission's (GLSC) in processing and analysis of data within the Survey Division in GLSC, undertake assessment of geodesy related works and will work closely with the PMU - GLSC and FAO LTO of the SLDM project, and the Geodetic Section of the GLSC as well as other agencies involved in terrestrial and maritime spatial data acquisition and processing. Tasks and responsibilities The incumbent will undertake the following tasks: Work in collaboration with the SLDM Team to assess survey field-to-office-GIS workflow / survey data collection (capturing), processing (cataloguing, storage, maintenance, dissemination) and analysis. Develop tools to work within the newly established geodetic reference framework towards provision of on-line services within a geodesy unit web page under the GLSC web site. • Contribute to the enhancement to the hydrographic surveys capacity in Guyana in collaboration with GLSC and the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD), and any other stakeholder towards execution of Hydrographic Surveys and management of marine spatial data. • Plan and deliver relevant workshops in geodesy, hydrographic surveys and other relevant technical areas relating to surveying practice within the new geodetic infrastructure and on geoidal modelling. • Evaluate data delivery and integrity of the Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network as needed and provide recommendations. • Facilitate the implementation of the roadmap and work plan for the development of a modern vertical reference framework for Guyana. • Review and assess levelling and Gravity data towards establishment of a localised Geoidal models and a permanent sea level observation / gauging strategy. • Provide any technical guidance relating to the global gravity field models, XGM2019e (degree 5540), locally acquired gravity and level data towards continued development of a geoid and ellipsoidal separation model for Guyana, and compare free air anomalies observed with those from the XGM2019e model • Utilise any available gravity data for Guyana for incorporation into the geoidal model using complex mathematical process, and conduct computations, and provide related training (Validation can be undertaken if levelling data is acquired to accompany at least some of the gravity data). • Advise GLSC in the implementation of the work plan for practical realization of the modern vertical reference frameworks for use onshore and offshore of Guyana, eventually through additional gravity surveys, computation of a precise national geoidal model and reinforced permanent sea level gauging. • Submit the Guyana Geoid for validation by the International Service for the Geoid (ISG) or another other related service for future support to the Commission • Further develop the Guidelines for Surveyors to include information on best practice for working within the coordinate reference system in the vertical and enhance particulars provided for the horizontal data. • Work with the local educational establishments and GLSC towards the delivery of professional programmes education in surveying and geospatial science. Continuation of work with the University of Guyana and initiate work with the Government Technical Institute toward progression of students to the University. • Provide a computer application compatible with Windows Software Application offering a user interface for the purpose of geodetic computations within the newly defined geodetic datum and geoidal model for Guyana • Develop a web portal and web page access to geodetic information for Guyana, within the existing GLSC's web site to provide definitions for the Coordinate Reference System (CRS) and access to control point data • Complete the reviewing of existing Survey laws and regulations to support / encourage / mandate the use of the new Guyana CRS and to incorporate the use of new technology in cadastral and other surveys and mapping works. • Disseminate findings of ongoing work that have a broader impact to relevant authorities within the government sector across Guyana. • Terminal evaluation of the work undertaken and its impact on the spatial science community with associated report • Produce technical reports and contribute to the terminal evaluation process, including providing inputs to the project terminal report, technical notes / peer reviews as relevant to his / her areas of expertise. • Support any related activities such as: . MED1 Vessel Engineer | Cruise Whitsundays

All of this enables us to provide wellbeing opportunities for millions of people each year. We currently have an opportunity for a Hydrographic Surveyor to join our fantastic Asset Improvement team. This individual will play a key role covering all of England and Wales. This Hydrographic Surveyor will be part of a small team responsible for collecting, processing, analysing, interpreting, and presenting spatial information on the waterway environment. Location &amp; coverage Administratively based from our Leeds or Newark hubs, this vacancy will be offered on a hybrid basis, with a requirement to attend our hub spaces as and when required for team working. This role will require regular travel across the Trust's national network of reservoirs, canals and river navigations to carry out site surveys. Site work is usually carried out Tuesday-Thursday. All site visits start Tinsley Marina, Sheffield- where the team's equipment, van and boats are stored. The regularity and distribution of travel will be discussed further at interview stage. Travel: This role will require regular travel (2 - 3 days a week) across the Trust's national network of reservoirs, canals and river navigations. Around 30 - 35 overnights away from home per year may be required. About the role The Hydrographic Surveyor will assist the Senior Hydrographic Surveyor in planning and carrying out multibeam and single beam echosounder surveys of canals, rivers, reservoirs, and docks. They will be responsible for post-processing the acquired data to generate outputs for use in the wider organisation including dredging, reservoir safety and engineering. The role holder will work cross functionally with others, contributing to the development and implementation of waterway asset management strategies and plans, and providing technical advice to support the Trust's operation, maintenance, repair, and renewal of waterway assets. Senior Port and Marine Engineer and Project Manager

Fish and Aquaculture Technician - Fixed term contract (12 months)Salary: £24,435 - £25,611 (depending on experience and qualifications) Working Pattern: 12-month fixed term (37 hours per week, 52 weeks) Location: Sparsholt Campus Closing date: 26th August 2025We are looking for someone with a passion in fisheries and aquaculture to join University Centre Sparsholt's fishery and aquatics provision.The role will focus on supporting two specialist facilities: - Our Aquatic Research and Conservation Centre, where we train aquarists of the future. The Facility includes tropical aquaculture systems, research facilities and ornamental marine and freshwater aquaria. - Our Salmonid Rearing and Trials Centre, which includes a salmonid hatchery and on-growing unit, lab and fish processing area, and a trials unit with 72 tanks. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, strong practical skills, and demonstrable experience in water quality, aquatic husbandry, record keeping and aquatic health monitoring. We also value excellent communication skills, a creative and flexible approach, and someone who can work well as part of a team of dedicated lecturers and technical staff. We would be particularly interested in candidates with an experience of salmonid nutrition research trials, or someone with the desire to develop their knowledge in this area to the level that they would be confident promoting research opportunities externally. In addition to overseeing the operation of the facilities, there may be opportunity for the postholder to contribute to the education of the next generation of aquarists by providing practical instruction and support to our students. POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Marine Service Technician performs all service and warranty repairs on boats, motors, trailers or ATVs in a timely and efficient manner according to manufacturer specifications.
