Job Description Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) Engineer - Submarines Full Time (Shifts and Travel Required) Derby An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) Engineer within the IMRS (Inspection Maintenance and Repair Services) Engineering Team in Derby. IMRS forms part of the Services Delivery Business Unit within Submarines. Our busy Engineering team is responsible for developing and deploying tailored repair and maintenance solutions to support the in-service maintenance of the UK submarine fleet, as well as support to submarine design and build programmes. As a RVI Engineer, you will provide both practical and technical support to inspection development and implementation projects, although primarily based in Derby, as a RVI Engineer within IMRS, you will be required to support inspections across the UK and potentially on offshore platforms or abroad. What you will be doing As an Experimental Test Strategy Engineer your primary responsibilities will include: <ul><li>Developing, implementing, and managing long term roadmaps for specific areas (including thermal hydraulic, high-fidelity measurement, acoustic, component, shock, materials and secondary propulsion testing) and for both new and existing test facilities, including their delivery.</li><li>Integrating with key capability areas across the business to ensure the testing roadmaps provide the necessary test capability today and, in the future, to service the business testing needs. Including test, measurement, and data capabilities.</li><li>Act as the point of contact for incoming test requests from across the business, undertaking the initial key stakeholder engagement and requirements and ensuring it is integrated into the right area of Technical Development.</li><li>Generate the initial principal testing solution. Responsibilities: The Controls Systems Engineer/PLC Engineer will play a vital role to design, specify for manufacture, test, commission, and support both bespoke and commercial off the shelf control system solutions. You'll review and agree high level functional and operational requirements including their testability.
