About the Role We are currently seeking a Trade Qualified Marine Mechanic or Med 1/Med 2 with workshop experience to join our team in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our Marine Fleet and infrastructure facilities. This is a key role within the organisation and requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling, and time management skills. Primarily working out of Cleveland and/or Russell Island, this exciting full-time position requires a person who is energetic, motivated, enthusiastic and has the flexibility to meet operational demands. You will be responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance on vessels across the fleet and other company assets, including regular inspections and maintenance of plant and machinery. You will ensure the upkeep of vessels meet compliance, environmental standards and Work Health and Safety obligations. Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Vessel Assessment Team (VAT) Marine Engineer to help support our current USMC contract out of Brisbane, Australia. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: <ul><li>The Marine Engineer / Naval Architect will report to the VAT Manager, focusing on the vessel's structural and propulsion performance. This expert will ensure that all design evaluations and recommendations align with the broader goals set by the Sponsors.</li><li>Analyze the vessel's design and provide structural and performance feedback to the Sponsors.</li><li>Present findings and potential improvements to the Sponsors for approval.</li><li>Evaluate hull design, material strength, and structural integrity under various loads.</li><li>Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to identify stress points, fatigue risks, and potential failure areas.</li><li>Assess coatings, corrosion protection, and welding quality for long-term durability.</li><li>Analyze ship stability characteristics in accordance with IMO and military standards.</li><li>Evaluate trim, draft, and ballast system performance under various operational conditions.</li><li>Assess auxiliary systems (electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, cooling, and power generation).</li><li>Evaluate redundancy and resilience in propulsion and steering systems for military applications.</li><li>Conduct Full Mission Profile (FMP) trials</li><li>Document any engineering incidents, near misses with recommend corrective actions as well as traditional U.S. seakeeping to the Sponsors and the RMB.</li><li>Provide input and/or create, and submit daily situation reports, and other requirements.</li><li>Perform additional responsibilities and duties as required by the VAT Manager or SLV (STS) Project Manager.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience with safety compliance in maritime or naval operations.
