Job Requirements Job Summary: Quest Global are responsible for the design, specification and control of gas turbine projects in the UK and worldwide. This vacancy is for a consultant Naval Architect to develop a strategy to certify a warship powerplant in accordance with Lloyds Register Naval Ship Rules (NSR) 2020. The role is to define the Lloyds Register requirements, and to specify when, how and by whom the Lloyds Register Naval Shop Rules should be engaged. There will be a series of requirement definition and compliance activities, to ensure that the gas turbine powerplant installation in the warship complies to the Lloyds Register standards. The vacancy is a 12-month Outside IR35 contract located in Bristol, UK. Due to the UK Defence content, the work must be completed 100% in-office. Principal Civil Maritime Engineer

Applicants are invited to further strengthen our technical capability in water environment assessment to lead the delivery of a range of project work, including planning and DCO applications for major infrastructure development. Our Bristol team comprises 15 water environment and flood risk professionals who work collaboratively on projects with our regional team of 30 across the South and South West, and with our national team of approximately 150 across the UK. We have a strong portfolio of major infrastructure projects such the Bristol Heat Network and Cullompton Town Centre Relief Road; and with clients such as National Grid, Network Rail and National Highways. We also continue to support our strong portfolio of Local Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority clients, including delivery of transport infrastructure schemes, flood investigations, flood risk management strategies and planning review support. The Sustainable Water Management business operates as a national team and work is shared around the team in a fair and transparent way, ensuring project allocation takes into account personal interests and development aspirations and much as practicable. A little more about your role... We are looking for a Consultant who has experience in the delivery of flood risk assessment projects to work collaboratively on technically complex projects for a range of clients. Working as part of our national team, the successful candidate will also be able to work seamlessly across other technical areas within the Sustainable Water Management team. This includes but is not limited to flood risk modelling, LLFA technical services and flood management solutions; as well as other water environment technical areas including Water EIA, WFD assessment, permitting applications, geomorphology and BNG. You will contribute to a diverse range of projects but the main focus of your work is likely to be Flood Risk Assessment for major infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas, with wider involvement in flood modelling, flood management and Water EIA as appropriate to individual experience. Sharing your technical expertise and mentoring more junior members in the team will also be part of your role.
