Job Description AECOM's Ports and Maritime team in Plymouth are looking for a Senior Maritime Engineer with civil and structural knowledge and a technical focus to play a major role on multiple projects. The candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, support fellow team members and manage inputs whilst meeting client requirements to agreed costs and quality. Working with an established Ports and Maritime team with over 100 years of shared experience we require someone to compliment that and will be responsible for technical delivery of a wide range of projects. Key clients include local authority, private companies, defence contractors and internal clients both in the UK and overseas. Job Duties: <ul><li>Responsible for the planning, preparation and successful completion of deliverables.</li><li>Have significant experience and knowledge of presenting calculations to a high standard of quality and able to utilise current computer software (including but not limited to ROBOT, GRLWEAP, WALLAP, TEDDS, PLAXIS 3D and others);</li><li>Have experience of checking and reviewing technical specifications, reports and technical notes to a high standard.</li><li>Review and comment on design, drawings and specification to ensure timely and accurate results.</li><li>Mentoring of staff to achieve technical solution and provide support to develop their knowledge and experience.</li><li>Communicate and liaise with other disciplines and clients to ensure clear understanding of scope and deliverables;</li><li>Assist in the preparation of tenders (programme, cost estimate, resourcing, preparation of written quality/technical input, etc).</li><li>Designing structures in the Marine Environment (including quay wall, piers, jetties, revetment, breakwaters, fendering, scour protection, linkspan supports, dolphins, etc);</li><li>Experience in the construction supervision of maritime structures.</li><li>Good understanding of, British Standards, Eurocodes and best practice in the maritime environment.</li><li>Good understanding of CDM, Safety in design and CEMD.</li><li>Experience in delivering projects over a range of cost and complexity.</li><li>Working in multi-disciplinary teams</li><li>Experience in the UK Maritime industry</li></ul>Come grow with us. The role As a Senior Naval Architect, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The waterfront is a continually evolving environment, which is going through a period of modernisation. As such there is the opportunity to help shape the future infrastructure of the dockyard, helping to make it more efficient and safer to operate. While at the same time, keeping the existing facilities in service. Day-to-day, you'll form part of a core team, dedicated to keeping the waterfront of Devonport Royal Dockyard available and suitable for the berthing of the Royal Navy's surface ships and submarines. <ul><li>Provide professional engineering / design authority support to waterfront and floating assets.</li><li>Manage the through life support for floating assets.</li><li>Act as Survey Controller for floating assets, specifying refit and repair packages, and post-refit asset acceptance.</li><li>Prepare design estimates, schedules, tenders and technical substantiations, whilst monitoring spends to ensure assigned projects and tasks are completed on time, in cost, and to the required quality.</li><li>Develop future waterfront assets with the MoD customer, forming statements of requirements, and specifications, ensuring they meet future operational demands</li></ul>This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
