[What the role is] You will be part of a team of marine professionals whose duties may include conducting inspections on ships to verify conformance with international and national regulations, investigating marine incidents, conducting training on maritime safety and pollution prevention, monitoring developments in international conventions of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and updating the national shipping regulations. [What the role is] Reporting to MPA's Hydrographic Division, candidate will be part of our team of maritime professionals whose responsibilities are to ensure safe navigation in Singapore waters by providing hydrographic, cartographic and aids to navigation products and services. [What you will be working on] Your duties will include: - Conduct hydrographic surveys in Singapore waters. - Operate, calibrate and maintain hydrographic equipment such as the multibeam sonar survey systems, side scan sonars, laser coast-lining systems, etc. - Process data generated from the various hydrographic surveys in office or on board the survey vessel. The data collected from the hydrographic surveys are used for nautical charting for the safety of navigation in Singapore waters. The work entails embarking and disembarking with equipment from small vessels to jetties via ladders/ landing steps and long duration on board survey vessel. The candidate is also expected to perform administrative roles such as liaising with internal/ external customers, report writing, project management and procurement processes. [What we are looking for] Candidate should possess relevant discipline such as Engineering, Nautical Studies or Information Technology. Candidates with at least 2 years of prior working experience in land surveying, cartography or geographical information/computer-aided design systems will have an advantage. You must be independent, meticulous with an eye for detail and a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical Executive / Senior Technical Executive (Hydrographic Survey)

[What the role is] Reporting to MPA's Hydrographic Division, the candidate will be part of our team of maritime professionals whose responsibilities are to ensure safe navigation in Singapore waters by providing hydrographic, cartographic and aids to navigation products and services. [What you will be working on] Your duties will include but not limited to the following: <ul><li>Supervise a team of Hydrographic Survey officers, including the planning and deployment of survey teams for survey works</li><li>Promote Singapore's interests at international Hydrographic fora</li><li>Manage projects and prepare reports</li><li>Plan, co-ordinate and monitor hydrographic survey training programs</li><li>Approval of hydrographic survey reports following the attainment of IHO Cat "A" certification</li><li>Manage internal and external clients to provide hydrographic information to meet client's requirements</li><li>Provision of technical advice on strategic hydrographic survey matters</li><li>Review hydrographic survey contractors' hydrographic surveys procedures and reports</li><li>Responsible for maintaining the functions and equipment for hydrographic surveys</li><li>Responsible for the management of contracts and agreements relating to Hydrographic Survey Department</li><li>Ensure department compliance to international standards and ISO quality management system for hydrographic survey</li><li>Development and delivery of training on subject matter</li></ul>[What we are looking for] Background in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Nautical Studies or Information Technology.
