Who are we looking for?
This is an expression of interest for a Marine Structural Engineer with expertise in maritime-related fields. The ideal candidate will have technical capability in:
- Maritime structures, including jetties, wharves, and ports
- Seismic analysis and design of structures (response spectrum, push-over, non-linear time history, etc.)
- Soil-structure interaction analysis using geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, Slide, Lpile, etc.) is a plus
- Site inspection work
You will be working with an energetic and high-performing team, and your role will involve:
- Providing technical expertise on projects and contributing to structural and geotechnical assessments related to marine projects, including calculations, design drawings, specifications, and reporting
- Leading the delivery of marine projects
- Facilitating weekly engineering meetings to review contractor work method statements and technical engineering deliverables
- Coordinating and liaising with multi-disciplines within the clients' owners team
- Completing in-field verification safety audits regularly
- Facilitating workshop discussions with the contractor and owners' team stakeholders
- Positively contributing to the site safety culture and the wellbeing of the workforce
- Participating and contributing to weekly progress reviews (cost & program) and providing recommendations to the client and contractor
- A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; licensed status is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in the related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in marine structures, including the design of steel and concrete elements for marine structures
- A sound understanding of structural engineering technologies and first principles, including soil/structure interaction to support structural design projects. Typical designs would include driven and bored piles, sheetpile walls, and revetments
- Proactive communication skills at all levels, with a genuine willingness to help others and proven time management skills to meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload
- Strong team development skills and a team player
- Initiative to work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to the remediation of existing infrastructure
