Job Description
As a Naval Architect & CAD Engineer you will be assisting the Principal Naval Architect in developing CORE POWER's vessel concepts as well as taking an increased responsibility for all CAD Engineering by the end of the Graduate Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in designing maritime vessels and have a reasonable working knowledge of CAD.
This role will give you an overview of all aspects of the Concept Design process and is ideal for someone who wants to kickstart their career in Naval Architecture.

Job Description
As a Naval Architect & CAD Engineer you will be assisting the Principal Naval Architect in developing CORE POWER's vessel concepts as well as taking an increased responsibility for all CAD Engineering by the end of the Graduate Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in designing maritime vessels and have a reasonable working knowledge of CAD.

The key responsibilities of the role involve:
- Assist with developing CORE POWER's technical drawings and rendered images.
- Assist with the development of CORE POWER's marine vessel concepts, incorporating systems design outputs to iteratively evolve the design.
- Assist with authoring marine vessel Basis of Design and Concept of Operations.
- As required, liaise with stakeholder; system designers, classification societies, regulators and potential customers to manage evolving requirements.
- Support CORE POWER's market development efforts.
- Some experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D Rendering software (SolidWorks Visualize) is an advantage.
- Some intern or project experience working in ship and offshore infrastructure design is desirable.
- Experience working on design projects against evolving design requirements.
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering or Ship Science.
- Suitable qualifications in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D Rendering software will be an advantage, but not essential.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly with other team members.
- An understanding of hydrodynamics, marine structures and marine safety
- An understanding of propulsion technologies and marine machinery.
- Have the ability to work with Computer Aided Design (CAD), particularly, software related to stability calculations, structural analysis, wave loading and dynamic behaviour of offshore structures.
- Comfortable with first-principle engineering calculations - mechanics and dynamics.
- Able to articulate technical risks and issues in a clear concise way.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to handle uncertainties.
- Thrives in a creative environment but possesses the pragmatism and awareness to maintain progress.
