YOUR ROLE
You join the CMA CGM group within the Center of Excellence in Innovation and Research of the R&D department. This hub enhances our capacity to innovate technologically and scientifically to achieve our objectives (decarbonization, digitalization...), while ensuring profitability and visibility on our commitment to the industry's energy transition. You will collaborate with strategic partners, experts in the maritime industry.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
• You review the internal tool OptiShip: development status and assumptions used, testing of the existing version for the design of new generations of low-emission container ships.
• You propose development directions for the tool: impact of new fuels, improvements to the loading and stability loop, and development monitoring, etc.
• You extend the database used in the tool to improve prediction accuracy, using the CMA-CGM fleet.
• You develop an approach to predict specific design parameters based on our database.
• You validate the performance prediction tool using the existing one, and conduct studies for the next generation of ships, both for new constructions and conceptual ships.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
• You are in your final year of engineering, specializing in Naval Engineering.
• Knowledge of CFD methods and programming languages (Python / VBA) is a plus.
• Your analytical mind, curiosity, and willingness to learn, combined with your attention to detail and ability to work in a team, will be assets to succeed in this position.
• You are bilingual in English.
