Job Description
The Marine Biologist at Villa Haven will be responsible for developing and implementing marine conservation programs, conducting research, and educating guests and staff about marine life and sustainability. This role requires a deep understanding of marine ecosystems, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to promoting environmental awareness and conservation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Marine Biologist or in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or eco-tourism industry.
- Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems, coral reef biology, and conservation practices.
- Scuba diving certification (PADI Divemaster or Instructor level preferred).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct field research and manage conservation projects.
- Passion for marine conservation and environmental education.
- Proficiency in using data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a remote island setting and adapt to a tropical climate.
