NYC Ferry operated by Hornblower is seeking a Marine Electrician for our operation in Brooklyn, NY.
About You:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody Hornblower's RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity:
As a member of the NYC Ferry's Engineering Department, you will be responsible for maintenance and repair of all electrical systems on NYC Ferry vessels. NYC Ferry vessels utilize low to medium voltage equipment, in both AC and DC settings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure all aspects of safety during task execution.
- Accept tasks from the Shift Supervisor and plans/implements execution.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all electrical systems on board vessels.
- Provide supervisor with detailed service reports and troubleshooting plans.
- Utilize specialized tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Use of approved Haz-mat required for paints, solvents & cleaning agents.
- Seek the highest levels of quality and professionalism.
- Work to achieve the highest levels of performance and productivity.
- Assist supervisors in ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist supervisors in ensuring vessel is always in an inspection-ready condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least 2 years of experience as an electrician; marine experience preferred.
- Formal training as electrician highly preferred (Technical school, Military, and Maritime qualifications will be considered) .
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical safety.
- Demonstrate knowledge of AC and DC electrical circuits, including but not limited to interpreting electrical schematics, using various electrician tools, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment.
- Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing.
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work near water, and work in tight spaces.
