As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be an experienced Marine Engineer / Naval Architect to support the design and development of marine vessels. This role involves applying specialized expertise in naval architecture and marine engineering to design, analyze, and optimize boats and related systems. The successful candidate will contribute to projects from concept through production, ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Marinette, WI. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be an experienced Marine Engineer / Naval Architect to support the design and development of marine vessels. This role involves applying specialized expertise in naval architecture and marine engineering to design, analyze, and optimize boats and related systems. The successful candidate will contribute to projects from concept through production, ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Duties:
- Develop and refine hull forms, structures, and marine systems to meet project requirements.
- Perform hydrodynamic, structural, and stability analyses to ensure vessel safety and efficiency.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and testing groups.
- Ensure designs comply with classification society rules, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support prototype builds, sea trials, and product validation activities.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in marine vessel design and engineering.
- Proficiency with marine-specific CAD/CAE tools (e.g., Rhino, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of hydrodynamics, fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, and materials used in marine applications.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and classification of society requirements (ABS, USCG, ISO, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience with Orca3D.
- Hands-on experience with prototype vessel construction and testing.
- Familiarity with FEA and CFD tools for advanced analysis.
- Experience in both pleasure craft and commercial marine vessel design.
