We are the premier houseboat destination on Shuswap Lake. With 1100 km of shoreline to explore onboard our luxurious Twin Anchor houseboats. Our guests have the ability to adventure and see the many highlights of the lake or relax on their houseboat. We are located at the largest marina on Shuswap lake surrounded by mountain scenery. It is the perfect location for after work adventures and to work in beautiful Sicamous, BC. Job Title:
Marine Mechanic Technician - Service Boat Technician- Twin Anchors Houseboats
Job Function:
Perform mechanical inspections, repairs, and routine mechanical maintenance in accordance with the procedures of the Quality System and meet time commitments. Runs Service boat to resolve issues, problems, and maintain/ fix houseboats well customers are on the lake. Ensures all houseboats and their appliances/equipment are operating as required and to the standard as dictated by the Quality System and Twin Anchors Houseboats expectations. To ensure the houseboats are able to leave dock on-time with all systems and maintenance completed before departure. Resolve Maintenance and Mechanical issues on the lake. With SOP's, safety, and provide service to make the guests vacation experience excellent.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure check lists are followed for houseboat and equipment status as dictated by the Quality System and turn sheets are maintained at the expected level
- Performs inspections on returning houseboats
- Operates service boat on the lake to ensure guests issues are resolved, boats are operating in a timely manner, problems up the lake are attended to in a timely manner
- Work as a team member with all Twin Anchors crew in responding to concerns relative to mechanical issues
- Repair or replace equipment and structures as required
- Perform Oil changes on engines and generators in accordance to oil change tracking form
- Monitor supplies and communicate needs through the Purchasing Supervisor or parts department staff
- Ensure customers up the lake are getting the best experience onboard their boat, problems or issues are fixed/resolved.
- Ensures service boat(s) have all required tools, inventory, safety equipment
- Investigates and completes necessary repairs based on customer concerns
- Completes necessary repairs to rental boats on water and in dry dock
- Complete mechanical tasks for additional work on TO DO Maintenance list.
- Performs winterizing operations and spring preparations as required
- Performs functions of customer service as required
- Collaborate with team members: Assist colleagues with dock operations, vessel handling, and any other tasks that may arise, especially during busy periods.
- Operate support vessels: Bring in houseboats or operate a pickup boat when required to assist with docking, mooring, or customer service needs.
- Assist with other duties: Provide support as required within the Twin Anchor's operations, adapting to changing demands and assisting with tasks to ensure smooth marina operations.
- One year of experience in mechanical related
- Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment relative to mechanical, construction, electrical or plumbing
- Certified mechanical abilities or similar experience
- WHMIS training certificate
- Strong communication skills: Ability to interact with guests, team members, and supervisors clearly and professionally.
- Physical stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and moving equipment.
- Customer service training or experience: Ability to provide excellent service, ensuring that guests have a positive and memorable experience.
- Pleasure Craft Operator's certification: Required to legally operate boats in the marina and on the lake
- Boat operation experience: Additional experience in boat handling, maintenance, and repair is highly beneficial.
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Certification(s) or proven abilities in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and construction
- Tourism or hospitality experience: Previous work in the tourism or related industries is an asset, especially in boat rentals or marina operations.
- Knowledge of houseboats or similar vessels: Familiarity with Twin Anchor's fleet or similar houseboat models is preferred.
- Experience with Mercury engines and drives (inboard/outboard)
- Experience with Westerbeke Generators
- Knowledge of Shuswap Lake
- Employment Type: Full-time Seasonal
- Work Schedule:
- Winter Schedule (Nov-April); Monday- Friday. Based on experience for winter work available
- Summer Sailing Schedule (May-Oct); Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
- Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage (to be determined based on experience).
