Safety Case Engineer - Submarines

An exciting Safety Case Engineer opportunity has arisen at our Faslane site supporting the NRPA and Babcock to enhance the company's performance on product safety, and to implement the organisation's safety management system across the Clyde Base Community.
You will be working closely with stakeholders at all levels across customer, supplier and partner organisations to include the NRPA and Babcock. There will also be the opportunity to visit and work with other Rolls Royce sites.

As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

You will be defining technical packages/investigations of work providing delivery against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements;

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.

What you will be doing:

- Applying safety or plant engineering experience to identify effective solutions to problems relating to our safety management systems
- Point of contact locally for safety management and to share subject matter knowledge across the function.
- Providing advisory services to designated customers, influencing their peer group, representing senior departmental staff and acting as advisor/coach on matters where they are technically authoritative.
- Actively promoting, encouraging and supporting the identification and implementation of continuous improvement (of tools, processes and methods) both within their immediate sphere of safety management specialism and outside, and prompt action across the wider team.

- Experience of Nuclear Safety Case or Plant Operator experience (Category A or B Nuclear Watchkeeper)
- Nuclear Plant or Site Safety Case writing background
- Customer, Supplier or Stakeholder management experience at all organisational levels
- Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.
