Responsibilities

Survey Planning and Execution:
Develop detailed survey plans and methodologies for dredging projects, aligning activities with project timelines and objectives.
Coordinate with project surveyors and stakeholders to ensure proper execution of surveys, including vessel deployment and data collection.
Data Acquisition and Processing:
Oversee the collection of hydrographic data using various surveying techniques and equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Manage the processing and analysis of acquired data to produce accurate bathymetric and topographic charts.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and manage survey equipment inventory, ensuring availability, functionality, and calibration.
Develop maintenance schedules and coordinate equipment repairs or replacements as necessary, staying updated with technological advancements.
Survey Data Management:
Establish and maintain a systematic approach to manage survey data, implementing storage and backup systems for data security and accessibility.
Develop standardized data formats and naming conventions for efficient retrieval and utilization of survey data.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to validate survey data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Develop and implement quality assurance protocols to monitor and improve data collection and processing procedures, conducting regular audits and reviews.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare accurate and detailed survey reports, including charts, maps, and technical documentation. Communicate survey results and findings to operations head, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Ensure timely submission of deliverables and maintain proper documentation of survey activities, findings, and methodologies.
Budget Control:
Budget and Resource Management: Collaborate with survey heads of port to develop survey budgets and cost estimates for projects. Monitor and control survey-related expenses to ensure efficient resource utilization. Identify resource requirements and coordinate the procurement of necessary equipment and services.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate surveying processes, methodologies, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and data accuracy. Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices, incorporating innovative techniques and technologies into survey operations.
Digital Mindset:
Overview of digital, AI and other emerging technologies and the ability to proactively identify opportunities through new age technologies and enhance business outcomes to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

Education Qualification
Diploma in Survey / Naval survey recorder / Diploma or B tech in Civil engineering

Work Experience
10 years experience as Hydro + Topo surveyor
