Stantec has several very exciting marine projects and opportunities, and we are looking for a talented Senior Marine Biologist to join our team. The position can be based in any of our British Columbia offices and provides opportunities to work on all three of Canada's marine coastlines. The successful candidate will work with multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to environmental assessments and applications for Fisheries Act authorizations. Tasks vary from project to project and broadly include planning and directing field work, leading data analysis and reporting, proposal development, and engaging with clients, DFO and First Nations. Pay Range:
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 104,000.00 - Max Salary $ 156,000.00
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 110,200.00 - Max Salary $ 165,400.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and manage marine field programs
- Assemble, analyze and manage marine datasets
- Lead development of Fisheries Act authorization applications, including developing offsets
- Lead environmental effects/impact assessments for proposed marine infrastructure
- Manage marine tasks or projects according to the approved scope of work, schedule and budget
- Support engagement with clients, regulators and First Nations
- Provide mentoring and leadership to junior and intermediate staff
- Participate in business development opportunities and proposal development
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- Proven technical, communication, writing, and organization skills
- Familiarity with British Columbia's marine ecology
- Strong knowledge of the Fisheries Act and DFO policies
- Experience preparing environmental assessments, preferably in British Columbia
- Experience leading field crews in accordance with health and safety protocols
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in biology, a post-graduate degree is a benefit
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- R.P.Bio. professional designation, or ability to become registered
- Marine related safety training and/or certificates will be an asset
- Consulting experience is required
