We are seeking a skilled Senior Naval Engineer to join our offshore project team. This role involves detailed design, analysis, and verification of marine and offshore structures, with a focus on lifting, grillage, and seafastening analysis using ANSYS. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in offshore Oil & Gas projects and strong proficiency in FEA and design software.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and analyze marine and offshore structures including platforms, floating systems, mooring arrangements, and transportation aids.
- Perform detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS to assess structural integrity under various loading conditions.
- Lead technical work related to lifting operations, grillage design, and seafastening analysis, ensuring safety and compliance with standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations, providing optimized engineering solutions.
- Work collaboratively with structural, marine, and project engineers to integrate naval engineering deliverables into broader project scopes.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical drawings, and reports to support design and field operations.
- Use AutoCAD and Navisworks for drawing review, clash detection, and 3D model integration.
- Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and cross-functional engineering discussions.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and offshore surveys to verify installation integrity and design conformance.
- Provide support during procurement, vendor evaluation, and bid assessments for marine systems and services.
- Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant offshore experience, particularly in Oil & Gas and EPC contracting environments.
- Strong expertise in ANSYS for structural FEA, including lifting, seafastening, and temporary structural design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Navisworks; familiarity with tools like MOSES, Orca3D, or NAPA is a plus.
- Sound knowledge of offshore structural codes and standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, API).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical tasks and produce high-quality deliverables under tight timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of conveying engineering concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional certification such as PE license or equivalent is an advantage.
