The role

Fugro have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Oceanographer to join our talented Metocean Consultancy team based in our Wallingford office. You will be using meteorological and oceanographic data to provide metocean criteria for engineering design and marine operations for clients in the offshore, renewable energy and coastal engineering sectors. You are expected to coordinate the work of a small team. You will be responsible for the critical review of metocean data sources to select data that are fit for purpose, and the analysis of the data either by using existing software tools or by developing new analysis processes.

Who we're looking for:
  • MSc in oceanography or marine related discipline, preferably PhD.
  • Extensive experience in a relevant role
  • Experience using Matlab, Python is desirable.
  • Focused on accurate analysis and delivering high quality reports.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Highly organised, efficient and self-motivated
  • Team player
