Salary range: £50,000 to £70,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: Plymouth, Portsmouth or Bristol

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home

We have a number of engineering and consultancy roles available across our maritime technical axis, based in various locations around the UK and each with its own unique offering.

What will you be involved in?

Frazer-Nash offers excellent opportunities for professionals with a background in maritime design, modification, operation, maintenance or safety. Examples of projects that our maritime domain consultants have worked on in the last 12 months include:
  • Type 26 Frigate Berthing and Docking Feasibility study for Portsmouth Naval Base.
  • Type 31 Frigate Integration study for the Upper Harbour Ammunitioning Facility in Portsmouth Naval Base.
  • Marine System Safety Case Reports for Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers and Type 45 Destroyers.
  • Facilitating design processes to support Babcock in infrastructure projects to meet future capability growth.
  • Fault Tree and Event Tree analysis, Bowtie management of platform High level Hazards.
  • Exploring options for the Royal Navy's adoption of future fuels across the surface fleet with a focus on the achievement of Net Zero.
Requirements

If you have any of the following, then please apply now:
  • Experienced Surface Ship operators in both maritime engineering or safety disciplines.
  • Experience of working in the maritime industry in support of defence.
  • Knowledge of maritime safety cases and safety analysis techniques, including HAZID, hazard management, functional hazard assessment, categorisation and classification.
  • Experience in risk management and reduction, including ALARP assessments.
  • Familiarity with Technical Assurance/Governance.
  • Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status (or working towards this for our more junior roles).
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
