The role encompasses scoping, data collection, development, execution, and presentation of multi-dimensional environmental water quality models. These models simulate the behaviour of reservoirs, lakes (Loughs and Lochs), as well as transitional and coastal waters. About You You should possess a degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in consultancy and/or the water industry and either have attained or be working towards chartered membership in a relevant professional institution. As an experienced professional, you are expected to work independently and with minimal supervision, with extensive relevant experience that includes the following: <ul> <li>A good understanding of numerical modelling equations and discretisation, 2D mesh generation </li> <li>Experience using numerical modelling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, OpenFOAM, ADCIRC, and Telemac, with proven applications in relevant fields. This experience might include modelling hydrodynamics, multiphase flows, particle tracking, advection dispersion, water quality, and chemical processes. Ideally, you will also have a basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh and/or marine waters. </li> <li>Experience with Linux, scripting languages such as Python/R, MIKE ECO-lab would also be an advantage. </li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders where you will be working closely with clients, and other professional staff across multi-disciplinary business groups. </li></ul>We are proud of our culture.
