The role encompasses scoping, data collection, development, execution, and presentation of multi-dimensional environmental water quality models. These models simulate the behaviour of reservoirs, lakes (Loughs and Lochs), as well as transitional and coastal waters. About You You should possess a degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in consultancy and/or the water industry and either have attained or be working towards chartered membership in a relevant professional institution. As an experienced professional, you are expected to work independently and with minimal supervision, with extensive relevant experience that includes the following: <ul> <li>A good understanding of numerical modelling equations and discretisation, 2D mesh generation</li> <li>Experience using numerical modelling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, OpenFOAM, ADCIRC, and Telemac, with proven applications in relevant fields. This experience might include modelling hydrodynamics, multiphase flows, particle tracking, advection dispersion, water quality, and chemical processes. Responsibilities: The Controls Systems Engineer/PLC Engineer will play a vital role to design, specify for manufacture, test, commission, and support both bespoke and commercial off the shelf control system solutions. With preferred strengths in flood risk management and sustainable drainage you will ideally have familiarity with other water environment disciplines to aid delivery of more complex projects for a range of clients.
