Job Description

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Engineer in the area of Coastal Engineering.

The candidate is expected to work in investigating the hydrodynamic interactions, sediment transport processes, and wave dynamics associated with coastal infrastructure. Other topics can include:
• Investigating turbulence dynamics and coherent flow structures induced by extensive marine infrastructure coverage.
• Experimental measurements and numerical simulations using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) techniques.
• Assessment of structural stability and environmental impacts associated with coastal protection measures and related renewable energy infrastructures.
• Develop custom software for data integration and visualization of simulation outputs.
• Conduct field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data.

Job Requirements
• Applicants should have a master's degree in civil engineering or related areas with emphasis on experimental testing on wave-structure interactions, hydrodynamic modelling, integration of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods with physics-informed data-driven approaches, advanced modal decomposition techniques, or relevant topics.
