We are seeking a skilled Marine Scientist with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to join our Environment Team in Qatar and contribute to our mission of protecting marine environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine biology, ecology, or related fields, with experience in conducting fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting. The Marine Scientist will collaborate with project teams to assess the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems, develop strategies for conservation and management, and provide expert guidance to clients. The successful candidate will possess the following: <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Environmental Science, or a related field.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience of 5 - 8 years in conducting marine fieldwork, including SCUBA diving and boat-based surveys.</li> <li>Comfortable working in offshore environments.</li> <li>Proficiency in data analysis software and GIS applications.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.</li> <li>Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to marine projects is preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conduct field surveys and research to assess marine biodiversity, habitat quality, and ecosystem health.</li> <li>Participate in SCUBA dive surveys where required </li> <li>Collect and analyze water quality samples, plankton samples, and other environmental data.</li> <li>Utilize GIS and other analytical tools to map marine habitats and assess spatial patterns.</li> <li>Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance documents.</li> <li>Communicate findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders through presentations and written reports.</li></ul>This is a great opportunity for you to develop your career while being part of a well-established and growing organization within Qatar. Senior Marine Scientist

Our Middle East operation is currently seeking a Marine Scientist to join our UAE team and enhance their career. To be successful, you must have a marine science related bachelor's degree (marine biology, marine science, marine ecology, or similar) as a minimum. For the Marine Scientist role, experience of 2 years or more is required. As a Marine Scientist, you will be responsible for studying the marine environment and your inputs will assist our teams in preparing reports detailing the outcome of our surveys. The successful candidate will possess the following: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree qualification in marine science</li> <li>Marine practical experience and comfort working in marine environment on vessels and underwater.</li> <li>Comfortable working in an offshore work environment both on and off rotation (not core job).</li> <li>Experience in report writing for baseline surveys or EIA</li> <li>Personal vehicle and UAE license required or actively being sought. </li> <li>Commercial or recreational diving license.</li> <li>Experience in sample collection, storage and field equipment usage.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English (additional languages, such as Arabic are preferable).</li> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills: verbal, non-verbal, written.</li> <li>Self-motivated and results oriented with high levels of energy.</li> <li>Is able to work in a team, reporting to senior team members.</li> <li>Demonstrate problem solving skills and the ability to work independently in the completion of tasks.</li> <li>Familiarity with Arabian Gulf habitats and species</li></ul>Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conducting marine surveys, acting as, or reporting to the Field Team Leader and Project Manager.</li> <li>Performing tasks in a manner which is consistent with prescribed methodology, testing, analysis, design or computation methods.</li> <li>Conducting assignment and investigative work, of specific scope and complexity in accordance with skill development, involving set elements of broader assignments.</li> <li>Assisting more senior professionals/technical officers in carrying out technical tasks.</li> <li>Survey and inspection of equipment with recommended improvements and innovations.</li> <li>Collection of samples with proper chain of custody procedures.</li> <li>In-situ testing of marine water quality.</li> <li>Marine mammal and reptile observations during routine works.</li> <li>Basic data collection, entry and reporting.</li> <li>Participate in SCUBA dive surveys.</li> <li>Flexibility to travel for work within GCC</li></ul>This is a great opportunity for you to develop your career while being part of a well-established and growing organization within UAE.
