As a Naval Architect you will be working closely with the client to execute their design engineering projects with close co-ordination of your design team. Your responsibilities will be as follows: <ul><li>Guide teams of Naval Architects, Structural Engineers &amp; Designers - responsible for basic design projects.</li><li>Conduct detailed Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of local structure, foundations and Global FE analysis &amp; report for ships and floating structures</li><li>Design of mooring systems for ships and floating structures. Should be able to perform Mooring Analysis using software like Optimoor or OrcaFlex. </li><li>Perform all Naval Architecture calculations, including weight estimate, intact and damage stability characteristics, resistance, powering and hydrostatic properties and other calculations using Bentley's Maxsurf or GHS or DELFTship or equivalent.</li><li>Good knowledge of class/IMO/Flag rules and regulations and should be able to apply these in the design. </li><li>Should have knowledge and experience in structural analysis, especially marine structures and should be able to do scantling calculations using IRHull/NovaHull or DNV Poseidon or Excel based macros. Job Description / Responsibilities Team management <ul><li>Lead / Manage the team of 5 to 10 Naval Architects/Engineers.</li><li>Building the capability of the team by carrying regular training and supporting the recruitment process.</li><li>Act as technical lead on projects with responsibility of deliver to organization and project quality deliver requirements.</li><li>Interact with Central organization to define the workload priorities and distribute the work to the local team accordingly.</li><li>Supervise and guide graduate engineers &amp; Naval Architects.</li></ul>Knowledge of any following software is preferred NAPA/FORAN/Maxsurf Technical Responsibilities <ul><li>Derive compartmentation of vessel for integrity and stability of vessel</li><li>Carry out naval architectural calculations and prepare intact, damage stability booklets for various vessels from newbuilding and conversion projects</li><li>Must have experience with carrying out Probabilistic Damage Stability Calculations.</li><li>Estimate lightship weight and do weight control during design development</li><li>Prepare other statutory documents such as capacity plans, tonnage plan, sounding tables, etc</li><li>Liaison with class for approval of booklets</li><li>Provide technical support to develop Loading software and other engineering software development activity as and when required.</li><li>Provide support to stability team as and when required for review of stability booklet, inclining experiment report.
