Naval Architect Engineer

<ul><li>Conduct hull structure strength assessment and analysis, propose method to strengthen the structure, including load spreading and securing of project cargo.</li><li>Prepare analysis report, structure plan, lashing calculation, stowage plan, securing plan, dunnage plan, heavy lifting plan for project cargo to owner, charterer, shipper, shipmaster &amp; class for approval.</li><li>Liase with class, owner and charterer regarding any dispute in ship strength, load spreading, securing, and provide a resolution.</li><li>Provide engineering support to business team/ Charterer team in bidding and ship evaluation.</li><li>File, update and maintain work database.</li><li>Optimize operation cost and improve work process continuously.</li><li>Conduct training and impart technical knowledge to others when required.</li></ul><ul><li>Diploma in Marine Engineering or Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture of equivalent.</li><li>At least 5 years of work experiences as a Structure/ Basic Design Engineer in shipyard or marine engineering company.</li><li>Candidates with more experiences may be considered for a higher level position.</li><li>Hands-on use of Autocad system or similar cad system to produce design drawings.</li><li>Hands-on use of Femap &amp; Nastran structure analysis software or similar software.</li><li>Experiences in cargo lashing design, DNV's Lashcon or similar software. Senior Executive, Naval Architect

Responsibilities: <ul><li>Prepare technical specifications for tender, equipment and material procurement and perform technical evaluation of vendor's bid</li></ul><ul><li>Perform ship strength calculations and perform ship structural design</li><li>Perform prediction and assessment of shipboard vibration and cabin noise, underwater radiated noise</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare and review arrangement / structural drawings, and Bill of Material for Approval, Working and As-Built.</li><li>Assist in the development of new designs and design concepts.</li><li>Perform naval architectural design/calculations (Hull form and general arrangement design, Hydrodynamic or stability calculations)</li><li>Layout design - fire, safety, watertight integrity, escapes, accommodation in accordance with building specification, class/statutory rules</li><li>Manage and check calculation/ design of external design consultants.</li><li>Manage and check technical information of external suppliers of equipment and systems and coordinate/cooperate with engineers from other trades in the organization.</li><li>To check drawings/documents and material list and ensure that they conform to contractual technical specifications, installation control documents, Classification and Statutory Rules/Regulations.</li><li>Liaise with shipowners and surveyors.</li><li>To ensure equipment specification, installation control document and interface design specification are properly maintained, disseminated and use for preparation of design activities.</li><li>Participate in tests and trials, where required.</li><li>To advise supervisors on work progress/status and shortcomings on technical issues on project under his charge.</li><li>Keep abreast with Classifications Rules, military and industrial standards relevant to design activities.</li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Degree in Naval Architecture/ Marine Engineering or Structural Engineering</li><li>At least 1-2 years' experience in engineering design in Marine/Offshore/Oil &amp; Gas industry.</li><li>Good knowledge of international design codes, Classification/Statutory Rules and Regulations.</li><li>Good knowledge on Naval Architecture / Structural Design</li><li>Knowledge of Vibration and Noise Analysis will be advantageous</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, Aveva Marine or related 3D CAD software knowledge are required.</li><li>Experience in VAOne, NAPA, CFD software knowledge will be an advantage.</li></ul>Other Information: <ul><li>Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)</li><li>5 days work week</li><li>Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm</li></ul>
