Position Overview This role is fundamental to certifying and developing rules for Submarine Naval Architecture, focusing on key hazard areas such as manoeuvring, control, and stability. You'll be integral to managing R&amp;D activities, chairing working groups, and supporting constitutional standards, all within a collaborative team dedicated to advancing submarine safety and capability. Location &amp; Working Arrangements The position is based in Bristol, offering flexibility with hybrid working options. What You'll Need <ul> <li>Naval Architect qualification at Master's level or equivalent experience</li> <li>Experience in submarine hydrodynamics</li> <li>Proven expertise in ship or submarine propulsion, including verification &amp; validation (V&amp;V) techniques</li> <li>Active SC security clearance (DV clearance highly preferred)</li></ul>Additional knowledge in acoustic theory and measurement techniques, along with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and/or MRINA membership, will be advantageous. Role Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead structural reviews and inspections of third-party vessels in support of the Vetting &amp; Clearance team and bp Group. RINA, SNAME or IMAREST)</li><li>Experienced safety leader - Understands process and personnel safety risks associated with the carriage of dangerous goods - Able to work in high risk environments, such as shipyards and construction sites</li><li>Marine and technical experience acquired in shipyards, classification societies or as a consultant - eg.
