Education Master's Degree in Naval Engineering Qualifications • In general, minimum 10 years' total experience working as Marine Surveyor out of which minimum 5 years' experience as Senior Marine Surveyor. Should be a Marine engineer or Naval Architucture and should have vast experience in survey fields within the marine industry or other applicable industry to their specialization. • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work. • Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy. • Ability to understand engineering plans and have basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations. • Ability, in general, to perform either, 1) new building surveys: - to assess the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building, - to assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory inspections, tests and trials, - to issue Certificates, Reports, Records and Status in compliance with rules and regulations. And/or: 2) ship in service surveys: - to assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been maintained in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory overall inspections, tests and trials. Should be qualiifed for Renewal survey of Oil/ Chemical Tankers, Bulk Carrier, Other Cargo ships. - to identify the deficiencies to be rectified (if any) and assess whether immediate repair is necessary or a condition may be issued with an appropriate due date, - to follow-up as required by rules and regulations any repair work or due to previous outstanding conditions, - to assess whether the deficiencies identified (if any) may be linked with potential failure of the Ship Management System, - to endorse Certificates, issue Reports and Status in compliance with rules and regulations. After attending a 3-week paid training in-person training in Falmouth, MA monitors are deployed from ports throughout New England and Mid-Atlantic states. Gear types assessed include, trawl, gillnet, longline and handline. Accommodations and meal reimbursement during in person session of training are provided. Training includes instructions on sampling protocols, gear, fisheries, fish identification, marine mammal/sea turtle identification, and safety. This is a challenging job, and candidates must be mentally prepared to be away from home for multiple days, and must be physically able to handle heavy lifting, working odd hours, and long days in rough seas. Observing provides an excellent career in marine biology, as observers and monitors are widely recognized as being excellent field biologists. Airswift is seeking a ROV Pilot to work on a permanent contract in Macaé with a major Oil &amp; Gas Company. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The ROV Pilot will be responsible for the safety and effective operation and maintenance of the company's inspection class ROVs, as required. Certification in at least one of the following qualifications: • Underwater Visual Inspection (SM-EV-N2-G / SM-EV-N2-ROV) • Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (SM-US-N2-ME / SM-ME-N2-ROV) • Electrochemical Potential Measurement (SM-PE- N2-G / SM-PE-N2-ROV) Offshore work experience as a ROV Pilot piloting and maintaining ROVs. ROV control, navigation, and propulsion systems. Ability to direct the operation of the ROV System. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Valid CBSP and THUET certifications English Technical degree or higher ABENDI certification - Desirable Knowledge and use of a ROV Sonar Systems Experience with Ocean Module V8 M500 desirable Additional safety accreditation in safe work management (i.e., IOSH).
