About Our Team:

Our Water Management Consultancy operates at the interface between people and the water environment. Our services span:
  • Flood and coastal erosion risk management.
  • Integrated catchment management.
  • Regulation and assurance.
  • Strategic asset management.
  • Water resources and water quality planning.
  • Hydrogeology and hydrology.
  • Aquatic ecology and hydromorphology.
  • River restoration.
  • Climate futures and resilience.
  • Coastal and marine environmental management.

Current Vacancies:

We're looking for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals to help lead and grow our world-class flood risk management team. We currently have openings for Assistant Flood Risk Consultants in Swansea and Cardiff.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking technical experts with a growing profile in the flood risk management industry, capable of leading hydraulic and hydrological modelling projects - including 1D and 2D models for rivers, surface water, and sewers.

You should have:
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Confidence in leading technical work.
  • A passion for mentoring junior team members.
  • Excellent client-facing and collaborative working skills.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Geography, Science, or Civil Engineering (ideally with an MSc or postgraduate qualification).
  • Experience or working knowledge of 1D-2D hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM) - or a strong desire to learn.
  • GIS skills - or a willingness to develop them.
  • Experience in flood risk analysis for planning, development, and design.
  • Experience in hydrological assessments - or a strong desire to learn.

Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope, manage resources, and oversee project delivery.
  • Lead technical work in data analysis, hydraulic modelling, hydrology, GIS, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners.
  • Support business development, including tendering and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop expertise in project procedures, including financial and change control, reporting, presenting, and quality assurance.
  • Assist project managers and directors in delivering a range of strategic infrastructure projects.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
