The team...

The Flood Risk Management team manages Gateshead Council's role as lead local flood authority (LLFA).

About the role....

You will lead the flood risk management (FRM) team of technicians and engineers in managing and promoting Gateshead Council's LLFA roles & responsibilities. As such you will require relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in a local authority FRM role. An accredited degree in a relevant subject is essential.

You will have knowledge of civil engineering practise & procedures (in particular highway drainage, sustainable drainage systems, public sewerage and flood risk management), asset management computer systems and graphical information systems. Knowledge of statutory duties, responsibilities & powers in relation to highway drainage & FRM is also essential.

You'll be paid a competitive salary Grade L, £46,731 to £49,764 plus an additional temporary Recruitment & Retention Allowance 10%: £4,673.10 - £4,976.40.
