The Role
As a Marine & Coastal Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
- Understanding of wave, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, Coastal storm surge and shoreline evolution.
- Primary expertise in wave theory, coastal processes, and coastal modelling
- Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary projects beyond core coastal focus
- Proficiency in tools such as OpenTELEMAC suite, MIKE 21/3 suite, ADCIRC, CGWAVE, BOUSS-2D, Delft3D, SWAN for simulating waves, currents, storm surge, and sediment dynamics.
- Experience with structures like breakwaters, revetments, groynes, seawalls, and ripraps.
- Familiarity with USACE CEM, EurOtop, CIRIA, and the Rock Manual for design and assessment.
- Ability to process and translate coastal and oceanographic data into actionable insights.
- Skills in tuning models to match observed data and ensuring reliability of simulations.
- Experience in executing and managing consultancy or research projects related to coastal engineering.
- Competence in preparing clear, detailed technical reports, documentation and contribution to technical proposals and support in securing new projects.
- Ability to present findings and progress to clients, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Working effectively with environmental scientists, civil engineers, and planners.
- Familiarity with geospatial tools for mapping and analyzing coastal features.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or MATLAB for model automation and data processing.
- Experience in mooring analysis for floating structures and vessels under wave and current loading using Optimoor/ MIKE-MA.
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Bachelor's degree (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering and Master's degree (M.Tech) in Ocean Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Over 10+ years of progressive experience in civil and ocean engineering domain.
